About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Atherton Court — and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since our senior living community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care.
The Perfect Location
Atherton Court is nestled in an easy to reach area among dentists’ and other professional offices, and near several main roads. Our neighbor is a private grade school where we enjoy partnering with them for intergenerational events. We are minutes from Washington Hospital Center. Our senior living community at Atherton Court is easily accessible and easy to find. Located minutes from Lake Elizabeth, our residents enjoy walks in the park and in experiencing nature nearby.
A Wonderful Environment
Atherton Court is an Alzheimer’s Care Community with a great reputation from our families whose loved ones we are caring for every day. The building layout is part of the program, intimate and familiar, with our circular walking path to enjoy while watching the great outdoors in the courtyard. There is always a smiling face right around the bend to share a story with, or fabulous food to enjoy, and so much more to experience.
Our one story community has 20 studio senior apartments to offer with a lush courtyard in the middle; around it is a circular pathway that our “purposeful walkers” enjoy, who need to continue their walking journey all throughout the day. Our homey environment enables our families to get to know each other, and new friendships form easily here. The love and dedication is obvious at every turn.
We have been featured on the cover of area magazines such as “After 55,” and we have wonderful letters from so many of our current and past families to share with potential customers as they make tough choices for placement.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
We nurture strong relationships with all the Fremont professionals we interact with on a daily basis, some of which include Washington Hospital, Kaiser Hospital, Fremont Healthcare Center, Windsor Manor, Park Central, Parkview Healthcare Center and many others. This, in turn, helps us provide our residents and families with a seamless continuum of care during a sometimes difficult time. Our community relations director is affiliated with several outreach groups assisting seniors and their families in all aspects of senior issues and is sought out for her expertise in the industry.
Atherton Court can boast proudly of its long-term staff currently in place. Some of our staff have been in place for over 17 years! There is always a friendly, familiar face to assist you in every way.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Place to Live
Atherton Court provides activities designed to stimulate both mind and body. Specializing in memory care, we understand the important part that activities play in slowing the progression of dementia and improving the residents’ quality of life. Our activities include exercise, such as walking groups and chair volleyball, as well as mental stimulation, such as reminiscing and word games.
There is a full daily calendar of events to join and experience. From morning walks, painting, courtyard chats, lots of entertainers that come in to help us celebrate with song and dance, to seasonal fun with all kinds of participants; there is always a reason to smile at Atherton Court.
Partnering with the Local Community
We facilitate monthly support groups, with guest speakers, geared toward any families in the area dealing with a loved one suffering from a memory deficit and needing someone to lend an understanding ear. There are seasonal events that we sponsor every year in the Fremont area that our residents and families always help us to celebrate. We assist our local senior center with their efforts and contribute as needed with gift baskets. Great local partnerships are happening with Atherton Court and the community at large.
Atherton Court is very well known for it’s outstanding participation in community events. From our active family support group, which is open to anyone in the Fremont area, to our neighbor elementary school children who come to visit many of our events, there is a full calendar to enjoy.
Atherton Court is very lucky to have an accomplished chef who goes above and beyond expectations for everyday meals and special occasions, and whose presentations are always a pleasure to behold. We work with our residents’ doctors to accommodate any special diet needs and make sure all is pleasing at the same time.
Residents and their family members celebrated the beginning of Spring during the quarterly family event. Families and residents were treated to an evening of fine dining and entertainment by the one and only Elvis! After arriving in his custom pink Cadillac, Elvis serenaded every resident during his performance and signed autographs for his adoring fans!
