This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Canterbury Woods; and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since 1995, when our community first opened its doors. Emeritus at Canterbury Woods is set on 91 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard and lovely gardens We are located just off exit 5 on I-95. We are located 15 minutes from Providence, RI. We are located 7 miles from Gillette Stadium. Local attractions include LaSallette Catholic Shrine, Capron Park Zoo, Highland Country Club, Locust Valley Country Club, Stone-E -Lea Country Club. Emeritus at Canterbury Woods is conveniently located in a residential area near Emerald Square Mall and the Wrentham Outlets.

Emeritus at Canterbury Woods offers 130 senior apartments on three floors and is surrounded by a beautiful wooded area — ideal for wildlife viewing! Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living within a warm, friendly environment that you can feel the moment you walk through our doors. As well as our activities center, we also have many common areas for our residents to enjoy. Our common areas include our lovely dining room, private dining room, library, fitness room, Bingo Hall, poker room, bridge room, putting room, and puzzle Room.
We offer Studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom 2 bath senior apartments (all with Kitchenettes). Included in your monthly rent is 3 meals day, weekly housekeeping and laundry, transportation to medical appointments and activities, all utilities, cable television, Building and grounds maintenance and free parking.
Emeritus at Canterbury Woods takes great pride in our staff. Their dedication and passion to our resident’s and their families is clearly evident. They take pride in the Brookdale Family Values. Our Resident Care Director has been with us for over 5 years. Our executive director has been with Brookdale for over 12 years.

A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including community outings to the various museums in the area and the Capron Park Zoo. Our residents enjoy weekly lunch outings. We offer daily shopping outings. We offer many different exercise classes, including walking club, Yoga, arthritic exercise. We have a choir and Piano club. We have Happy Hour 3 days per week and drinks are complimentary. Our Men’s club enjoys card games, cooking class, sports games, and sports outings. We play Bingo daily. Our residents also enjoy our musical concerts, arts & crafts classes, Book clubs, and religious classes.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Sturdy Hospital is less than a half mile from our community and a nursing home rehabilitation facility is also close by should you ever need it. At Emeritus at Canterbury Woods we offer a full medical team to our residents. We have a Physician, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Dentist, Optometrist, Audiologist and Psychologist.
We take great pride in our dining services. We offer restaurant style dining for all three meals per day. Residents may choose from either of the daily specials or they can order from the always available menu. Our chef can accommodate diets with salt restrictions as well as diabetic diets. We also offer ground and puree diets.
