About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Casa Whittier- and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 1980, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Casa Whittier is conveniently located just off Whittier Blvd, west of Beach Blvd. The community is just minutes away from shopping and many great restaurants and other locations. Whittier is a lovely place to call home. When moving to Casa Whittier you will be able to enjoy our great weather and cool breezes. Being that we are located close to the Los Angeles and Orange County borders, we have the best of both locations with many attractions just a quick ride away.
A Wonderful Selection
At Casa Whittier you will feel right at home the moment you walk through the doors. Our atmosphere is warm and friendly and the residents are happy and active. Our retirement community is not too big and not too small, but just right! Our floorplan is simple for residents to make there way around the building without being overwhelming for them. Our warm and inviting community offers 63 studio apartments that can be private or semi-private. Our floorplan is simple and easy to navigate as it is only 2 floors that are rectangular shaped. There are several areas to relax and enjoy visiting with family and friends.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
We have strong relationships with local hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers such as: Whittier Presbyterian, Whittier Hospital, St. Jude Hospital, Whittier Hills, Sorrenson, Royal Court Rehab, La Habra Convalcent, Park Regency, Mirada Hills, Imperial Convalcent, and many others. Residents can also have the convenience of having services come to them onsite through the Caremore Touch program.
At Casa Whittier you will notice a loving and caring attitude displayed by staff. Having a passion to help others is a common trait you will find among those who work here. We even have those who have been at the community for over 15 years or more.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Place to Live
Our senior living community values the input from the residents regarding the types of activities and programs they like to participate in. Residents have a choice of activities throughout the day which range from games, beading, quilting, and so much more! We also have weekly outings and special trips throughout the month.
Our residents participate in many social activities such as game hours, jewelry making, lunch outings, picnics at the park any many others. We also have holiday sing-alongs and other family events throughout the year. Our most recent event was a sock hop to participate in this year’s “National Dance Day”. We offer a variety of wellness programs and activities to include balance and mobility sessions, pet therapy visits, and Wii games.
Active Community Relationships
At Casa Whittier, we realize how important community is. Through ongoing events, educational seminars and classes we are able to stay connected with the local and surrounding cities. We are proud to be participating in this year’s Alzheimer’s Memory Walk to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s. Additionally we host a variety of events to let our neighbors know that we are active within our community throughout the year.
Our resident’s art work was on display in CALA’s “California Inspires!” art show at the California State Capitol. CALA was approached by the curator of the University of Southern California (USC) Sophie Davis Art Gallery with the request to display certain artwork from our “California Inspires!” art show. The show will display artwork created by […]
