About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Clairemont — and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since 1993, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with an interior courtyard, Emeritus at Clairemont is considered one of San Diego’s premier senior living communities. Located close to Highway 805, our community offers 106 senior apartments on two floors, where from the moment you step into our home, there is a sense of welcoming comfort and security. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our compassionate, friendly staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. We’ve designed our services to focus on wellness, helping you maintain or improve your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
Our common areas give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including exercise programs and off-site excursions. Emeritus at Clairemont is conveniently located in an urban area, near Wal-Mart, Smart & Final and Wells Fargo, yet close to Pacific Beach. In addition, several medical facilities are within easy access, including Sharp Healthcare, Scripps Memorial Hospital and to a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
Residents have created the best history books in the world. “We are ‘us’ because of their legacies. It is with great pride and honor that I serve them.” Brookdale is known for hiring some of the most compassionate, dedicated individuals in the senior living industry – individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our residents and in the communities in which they live.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
The primary goal of our life enrichment staff is to plan activities that are fun for residents, while also promoting brain health. Our retirement activities incorporate all the chief components of brain health, including the nutritional, social, spiritual, physical and intellectual aspects of mental well-being. The result is a wide variety of stimulating programs for our residents, include Walking Club, Game Club, Tai Chi, Yoga, dance classes, guest speakers and excursions to cultural events, just to name a few.
Our goal is to support your loved one in being purposeful and successful each day. We use the detailed Life Story to understand your loved ones hobbies, careers and interests and then turn these ideas into activities in which they can participate in every day.
At Brookdale, we understand all the benefits that pets can offer. We also know that many of our residents can’t imagine life without their furry, four-legged companions. So when we say, “Our family is committed to yours,” that includes this important member of your family. When you make a move to senior living, you shouldn’t have to give up your pet. That is why Brookdale Senior Living has Pet-Friendly apartments available at many of our communities nationwide for pets under 20 pounds.
Our skilled and knowledgeable chefs prepare three healthy, flavorful meals and three snacks a day. They also work closely with our registered dieticians to accommodate residents with a variety of dietary modifications, from low sugar to no salt-added diets. All meals are served in our lovely dining rooms, restaurant-style by our gracious wait-staff.
To experience the taste of premier senior living, we invite you and your family members to join us for a complimentary lunch at our assisted living and retirement living community of your choice.
