About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Cordova and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities—has shared since our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful—a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
We are easily accessible being located close to I-40 and I-240. While we sit back off the road for a peaceful secluded feel, we are conveniently located near the Wolfchase Mall, local stores and banks and a variety of restaurants. For outdoor activities, we are convenient to Shelby Farms and the Wolf River with its recreational trails. Medical facilities are close by and we are centered in between 3 of the top hospitals, the brand new St. Francais Bartlett Hospital, Baptist Memphis and Methodist Germantown Hospital. There is even a skilled nursing/rehabilitation facility right next door if ever needed.
A Wonderful Selection
Emeritus at Cordova has a wonderful, warm, family atmosphere that will make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. It’s a one-story ranch style building with 76 apartments in 3 sizes to choose from. Common areas include a lovely dining room, chapel, activity room and TV room. The favorite common area for both residents and family is the recreational room, complete with pool table.
Our residents love to boast about the care they receive from our loving staff. The trained Resident Assistants and LPNs are available 24 hours a day to assist and provide phenomenal care for your dearest loved one. The head of the Cordova Estates family, our Executive Director, Theresa Cole, is an LPN with 6 years of experience in the senior care industry and 12 years as a nurse. Under her leadership, our family team is continuously trained to provide the best care. As a team, we nurture each other as much as we do the residents.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
When asked what her job is, our Life Enrichment Director’s answer is always the same, “I get to do the fun stuff!”. All the residents are quick to agree. She starts their day with Stretch and Flex, a low impact, stretching exercise and from there the day opens to a blend of inside and outside activities, ranging from shopping, luncheons and movies to games, golf and giggles. She develops a unique activity calendar every month and strives to see that there is something for everyone.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Emeritus at Cordova is an active member of the community providing educational seminars, participating in public events and hosting the Neighborhood Association meetings. We strive to make a difference in not only the lives of our residents but also in our community by becoming the face of awareness.
After 13 years with Emeritus at Cordova, our chef has perfected the art of southern dining. She attends to each resident’s dietary needs while providing meals with that special flavor of the south. She welcomes input from the residents and her recipe book continues to grow as she is introduced to a variety of family favorites. While her culinary skills are raved about, it is her desire to make each meal memorable what really endears her to both the residents and staff.
