About Our Community
Brookdale Farmers Branch is located in a quiet residential area, set on five acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails. One of the premier assisted living and memory care communities in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, Brookdale Farmers Branch is located close to I-635 and I-35. For the convenience of our residents, our community is also near the Valley View Mall, Galleria Mall, several parks, as well as major employers and state-of-the-art medical facilities, including RHD Memorial Medical Center, Doctors Hospital, Baylor Univesity Medical Center and several skilled nursing facilities.
A Wonderful Selection
Brookdale Farmers Branch offers 52 assisted living apartments, with three open floor plans to encourage movement and independence within a safe envrionment. We also offer 10 memory care apartments. All apartments are on one level for easy access. And each includes a walk-in shower, separate dressing area and individual climate control. Some also have beautiful views of our enclosed courtyards.
Here, within the warmth of our tight-knit community, residents also have access to several lovely common areas – an elegant dining room, living room and sitting areas, library and other cozy spaces – to enjoy conversation and friendship with their neighbors. Pets are also welcome at our community.
We pride ourselves on hiring only those care professionals who are truly passionate about working with seniors and people with memory impairments. This commitment has resulted in a track record of longevity, with our staff members averaging eight years of dedicated service. To ensure that residents receive the best in customer service and medical support, we train our staff on an ongoing basis. Plus, as an Brookdale community, we have access to the latest educational tools available, giving our staff the knowledge they need to address the full needs of our residents. Our memory care staff also receives additional training in Join Their Journey, so that they are thoroughly prepared to handle any situation that arises and able to help residents have the best day possible that they can.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
A wonderful daily calendar of activities is a big part of life here at Brookdale Farmers Branch. The basis for many of our social programs are concepts drawn from the Paul Nussbaum’s book Save Your Brain. As much as possible, we incorporate the five components of good brain health – socialization, spirituality, nutrition, exercise and mind stimulation – into our day-to-day activities, helping ensure that residents remain vital and active.
We are also all about offering choice to our residents, which is why there are so many different types of programs available, including entertainment and special musical guests, movie nights with fresh popcorn from our own popcorn machine, card and board games, arts and crafts, and educational seminars and discussion groups. For those residents who love to give back, we provide a variety of volunteer opportunities. And for those residents who love to get out and about, our Life Enrichment Director plans all kinds of lunch outings, ice cream outings, shopping excursions and special family events. Computer and Internet access is also available, as well as weekly religious services.
Memory care residents have their own activities program, which is designed to promote stimulation, encourage one-on-one conversation based on their life stories, as well as enable them to enjoy activities they once loved, such as cooking and music. We also plan special events for our family members, giving them new ways to interact and enjoy being with their loved ones.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
We partner with many local organizations, including the Senior Centers in Farmers Branch and Carrollton, where residents are welcome to join in the many activities offered at these organizations. In addition, we work closely with the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and participate in various fund-raising events, including sponsoring a team to walk in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In addition, we offer a monthly support group for family members of our memory care residents to which the general public is also invited. Various church groups in the local area are also a big part of the Brookdale Farmers Branch community, providing many wonderful services and activities for our residents.
Our beautiful dining room serves three freshly prepared meals each day, served restaurant style, nourishing both mind and body. Residents begin the day with a full made-to-order breakfast, followed by our main meal at lunch and a light dinner. Snacks are a regular part of the day for those who want a little treat between meals. We also have an outdoor barbeque, where we occasionally grill up some wonderful Texas-style favorites!
The menu for our memory care residents is the same, but they also receive three large snacks, which is especially important because residents tend to walk and wander a lot, which consumes larger amounts of calories. We also work with family members to make sure we know our residents’ food preferences – again, an important part of ensuring that they receive proper nutrition.
