    About Our Community

We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.

This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Gainesville – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 1998, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.

    The Perfect Location

Emeritus at Gainesville is nestled between businesses and residences giving us a warm, comfortable feeling.

Emeritus at Gainesville is close to shopping and entertainment venues and just 5 minutes off I-75. We are close enough to the University of Florida to “feel” the Gator Nation, yet far enough away to enjoy a quiet, pleasant environment.

    A Wonderful Selection

Whether you would prefer the intimacy of a private studio or would like to spread out in a two-room suite, at Emeritus at Gainesville we can accommodate your desire. Emeritus at Gainesville has all of our senior apartments on one level for easy access to our residents; no worries of tumbles down staircases, difficulty maneuvering around in an elevator, or confusing floor plans. Relax under the gazebo is our courtyard, sit with friends in the dining room, or read a book in our quiet living rooms. The choice is yours!

    Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

We pride ourselves in nurturing strong relationships with our local hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers. Through the communication and relationships we share with key staff within these affiliations, we provide seamless continuum of care for our residents.

    Our Community Lifestyle

    A Wonderful Place to Live

At Emeritus at Gainesville, we value our residents’ opinions and we rely on their feedback to plan activities they enjoy. Choices in social, physical, mental, cultural and spiritual activities are encouraged. Our residents also enjoy outdoor excursions and live entertainment all with the security of knowing care is available if they need it.

It would be easier to list what we don’t do at Emeritus at Gainesville! Art, games, cards, live entertainment, parties, medical and educational seminars are all a part of the very full activities calendar.

    Partnering with the Local Community

We work very closely with local businesses and health care providers doing community outreach, fundraisers, and educational seminars to let all of Gainesville to know we are proud to be part of the community. Emeritus at Gainesville is passionate about being active in the Gainesville community, hosting many free educational seminars, fun events, as well as sponsoring an Alzheimer’s support group each month.

    Fine Dining

Three homemade meals are served daily. Meals are served restaurant-style in an atmosphere where residents can enjoy conversation and a satisfying culinary experience. Our chefs are proud of their culinary skills and always concerned about serving residents food that they’ll enjoy. We can also accommodate special diets such as diabetic, low sodium, and allergies.
