About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Lynnwood – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 1988, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our community for its active lifestyle.
Set on two acres of lush lawns and gardens, Emeritus at Lynnwood is in a beautiful location, tucked away in a peaceful residential neighborhood. The entrance to the community is a winding road through lovely greenery that leads into a cozy cottage setting.
Located close to Highway 99 and Interstate 5, Emeritus at Lynnwood is conveniently located near Alderwood Mall, downtown Edmonds and the majestic Puget Sound. Several medical facilities are also close by, including Swedish/Edmonds Hospital and a nursing home rehabilitation facility, if ever needed.
A Wonderful Selection
Emeritus at Lynnwood is a unique, intimate cottage community that offers 60 apartments. Here, our warm and caring staff provides assisted living services, which are tailor-made to meet each resident’s needs. We also specialize in memory care for residents living with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Our services focus on wellness to help our residents maintain their health, so they can live as independently as possible.
Emeritus at Lynnwood is also pet friendly! Our rescue house dog, “Georgia,” is loved by our memory care family.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Emeritus at Lynnwood enjoys a solid partnership with outside support services such as: Home Health; Hospice; Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapies; as well as podiatric and beautician services. In addition, if a family is in need of a primary care physician for their loved one, we can certainly provide the names of trusted geriatric specialists in the area.
At Emeritus at Lynnwood, a great many of our staff have been with us for more than 10 years! To keep consistency for our residents, we schedule the same staff members in each cottage to serve and care for our residents, which helps us enhance their feeling of security and familiarity. Brookdale’s view is that once folks move into one of our communities, we become one family – and our families absolutely feel the same!

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Our Life Enrichment Director visits with each resident and their family to discover what is a source of joy for them – both now and in their past. We then create an activity program that incorporates the interests of each of our residents. A daily plethora of daily activities fills the air at Emeritus of Lynnwood – many that are designed to encourage socialization and friendships among our residents. These may include Sit and Be Fit, Word Play, Bread baking, Green Thumb Gardeners, Bridge Club, bowling, art, field trips and much more. We also host dozens of social events throughout the year where families can spend time and celebrate with their loved one at the community. Our promise, “Our Family Is Committed to Yours” is alive and well at Emeritus at Lynnwood.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Emeritus at Lynnwood is deeply involved in the local community. Our local homeless shelter is extremely grateful for the support we extend by way of food donations and time. Our community also hosts student volunteers from the Edmonds Community College ESL volunteer program. Not only does this partnership help our staff and residents, but it enriches the students’ vocabulary, provides them with a greater understanding of our senior population, and allows them to explore senior living as a professional career path. We invite the extended community to “Family Night” – so we can help families and individuals faced with a dementia-related diagnosis in knowing they’re not alone in this journey.
Emeritus at Lynnwood serves three home-cooked meals daily with two different entrée selections available at every meal. The Petosa Brothers, who are well-known chefs in the Lynnwood area, head up our dining services department. Our residents enjoy their home-style cooking with menus that use the bounty of the season or ingredients from our edible garden!
