About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Brookdale Memorial Oaks, formerly known as Emeritus at Memorial — and throughout Brookdale senior living communities — has shared since 2000, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with a beautiful courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Brookdale Memorial Oaks is considered one of the premier retirement communities in Texas. We are located right off Beltway 8 and Briar Forest.Memorial City Mall is a short distance away as well as Memorial City Hospital, West Houston Medical Center, and Westheimer.
Our retirement community offers 65 senior apartments and a central dining area all on one floor for easy access. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
A small intimate community with a family-friendly atmosphere, Brookdale Memorial Oaks feels like home the moment you walk through the doors. Our common areas — including our beautiful sunroom and a dining room in which all seats have a lovely courtyard view — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another.
We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including our active Residents Council and community outings to the popular Brenham – Blue Bell Creamery and/ or Galveston Sea Wall. While Brookdale Memorial Oaks is located in a rural area, we are in close proximity to many restaurants, Wal-Mart, the Dollar Store and Briargrove Park. Several medical facilities are also close by, including West Houston Medical Center, Memorial Herman — Texas Medical Center and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed. Our family friendly environment will make you feel at home with the energy that our staff generates with our residents.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
We have an amazing Life Enrichment Director with twenty years of experience working with seniors. Our Life Enrichment Director works with our seniors to plan the types of activities they want. We value our residents’ opinions and rely on their feedback to plan activities they enjoy. Choices in social, physical, mental, spiritual, cultural and creative activities are always encouraged. Our residents enjoy a variety of live entertainment and outdoor excursions all with the security of knowing care is available if they need it.
We are an active senior living community offering daily exercise class, walking groups and a variety of arts and crafts. The fun never stops with monthly entertainers from jazz to hula dancers. We have a very lively group that loves to sing along, reminisce and talk about today’s current events.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Three homemade meals are served each day. Each meal offers a salad and choice of two hearty soups to start, entree and dessert. Meals are served on fine china in a restaurant style atmosphere so that residents can enjoy conversation with the company at their table while enjoying a satisfying culinary affair. Our Dining Services Director has been with us for ten years. In addition to his wonderful menu, every month he plans a special meal for the residents of their choice.
