About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Montclair Park—and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities—has shared since our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful—a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Montclair Park enjoys a commanding panoramic view of the Olympic Mountain Range, Liberty Bay and the picturesque community of Poulsbo. We are located close to the intersection of Highway 305 and Lincoln Rd. Several medical facilities are close by including a nursing home rehabilitation community. Poulsbo is a quaint Norwegian town that many people sail to as a tourist destination to enjoy the wonderful shopping opportunities offered. The unique downtown stores make for a fun and memorable shopping experience. Emeritus at Montclair Park is located between the downtown shopping interests and many local restaurants and shopping centers like Village Shopping Center and Central Market, a local favorite grocery store. Poulsbo is only a short drive and ferry ride away from the Seattle waterfront.
A Wonderful Selection
Opening in 2001, Emeritus at Montclair Park is the newest and largest retirement community in Poulsbo. The community has 109 senior apartments. There is independent living, assisted living and memory care. We have a wide variety of floor plans available, including studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom options. We offer apartments with amazing views of the Olympic Mountains or the beautifully landscaped Northwest gardens. Some of our ground floor apartments have a private patio individually accessible. Come and enjoy a delicious ice cream cone in the soda fountain style ice cream parlor. Our residents stay busy utilizing our woodworking and weaving rooms. They stay fit in the exercise gym. Many of our residents entertain their loved ones in our private dining room, large dining area, a media and theater room, We have plenty of opportunity for those that love to cook to prepare loft with full kitchen and beauty shop.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
The staff at Emeritus at Montclair Park work hard to maintain a close working relationship with all our resident’s healthcare providers. We have several local physicians who enjoy coming to Emeritus at Montclair Park making house calls to our residents, further fostering that close working relationship. We often visit their offices to communicate how as a team we can better meet the health needs of our residents.
Our staff is warm, friendly and caring. The highly trained members of the Emeritus at Montclair Park team are a family unto themselves with many having longevity (several up to 9 years) here. We provide up to date training certification courses not only to our staff, but to other communities in the area as well. We truly believe that we are guests in the resident’s home and strive to honor the residents with dignity, respect, and compassion while providing excellent care and services.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Our residents enjoy a wide variety of activities, social programs and lively entertainment. We offer exercise classes and walking programs. Our residents enjoy the beautifully landscaped walking paths of our large building campus. We have many active residents that love to explore local area restaurants and call themselves, “the Lunch Bunch”. We have residents that are very crafty and take advantage of the Kitsap weaving classes, knitting and crocheting groups, woodworking shop and many various craft projects throughout the year. We have many people from the Poulsbo community who love to play bridge, board games, cribbage and bingo with our residents.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Our senior living community has many large events throughout the year as well as numerous impromptu gatherings with all our friends and families. As the largest community in the area, we host a fabulous classic car show every year with old fashioned root beer floats and all-American barbecue. Many friends and families cannot wait for our annual Christmas and Thanksgiving buffet dinners, with a menu of prime rib and salmon, who can resist? We love to give back to our community and to organizations by sponsoring a yearly garage sale where the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Many local community groups prefer to host their functions here at our beautiful and spacious community.
At Montclair Park our dining services department strives to make our meal times enjoyable and memorable. Our menus are designed with residents’ tastes and health in mind. We seek to serve a broad range of foods familiar to our residents while ensuring meals are balanced and nutritious. The dining department also takes a part in community events every month as we offer special meals to go along with activities and holiday gatherings. We encourage residents to bring in family and friends to celebrate special events with them. Our residents have a strong voice and can actively participate in our Resident Food Council meetings to provide feedback and offer suggestions that they would like to see on our menu. Our head chef works hard to implement all suggestions and preferences expressed by our residents, families and friends and to accommodate special dietary needs.
