About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Northdale; and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities; has shared since 1999 when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful; a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our Tampa retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Northdale is conveniently located just east of Dale Mabry Highway, two miles west of I-275 and two miles east of the Veteren’s Expressway. Our building is located in upscale Carrollwood, convenient to many retail and dining establishments.
Our retirement community completed a million dollar renovation, which includes both the common areas and the resident rooms. There are two landscaped outdoor courtyards for our residents to enjoy, a sun room, private dining, and several comfortable living room areas. Located in the north area of Taampa, we are nearby Lutz, Land o Lakes, Wesley Chapel and Odessa. Tampa has a sunny, balmy climate year round. Bay area attractions include the Tampa Museum, the Fine Arts Museum, Salvador Dali and Dale Chiluly collections, The Straz Theatre for the Performing Arts, Seminole Hard Rock Casino, and many more. Our professional sports teams include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL team, The Rays American League Baseball, The Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey team, and the USF Bulls college teams. We are minutes from the gorgeous beached of the Gulf of Mexico and home to historic Ybor City cigar making and nightclub attractions.
A Wonderful Selection
Northdale is a vibrant, friendly retirement community of seniors. Our accommodations consist of generously sized studio senior apartments, many with garden views. Our residents come from all areas and all walks of life. We have a large male population, as well as several married couples living in our community. Their ages range from early sixties to late nineties. Our beautifully renovated community is both manageable and affordable for our seniors. We are an “all inclusive” community, with all housekeeping, dining and activities provided for in the monthly rental charges. Our residents enjoy the services of a professional hairdresser and barbershop in the building, as well as mobile grooming services for our pets.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Senior Home Care provides therapy, nursing and related services to our residents seven days per week, right in our building. Our affiliated physicians are on hand weekly to see patients, and a variety of specialists visit our community regularly to ensure the continued good health of our seniors. We became part of the Brookdale family in March of 2009. Many of the staff members have been with us since that transition, and we are consistently adding to our group of enthusiastic employees who love older adults.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Emeritus at Northdale senior living community has two separate activity programs, each designed with the residents’ enjoyment and activity level in mind. Northdale also features a “Guardian Angel” program. This program enlists several of our residents as ambassadors to welcome our new Brookdale residents. They are greeted, introduced and escorted to our activities and dining. This program is rewarding both to the “Angels” and to seniors new to our community.
Our residents enjoy weekly outings to the above listed nearby attractions, with regularly scheduled luncheons and visits to restaurants and retail centers. Northdale has a gardening club whose members grow and harvest organic vegetables for use in our restaurant. We have a “Legacy Group” which captures each senior’s life story for future generations, through the use of scrapbooking and journaling.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Emeritus at Northdale is a proud participant and sponsor of the yearly Alzheimer’s Walk. We host a variety of fundraising events for this worthwhile cause, and partner with world renowned USF Center for Alzheimer Research to provide speakers on related topics for our local community.
Emeritus at Northdale has a monthly schedule of events planned for both our residents and families in the local community. We host focus groups for Alzheimer’s families, monthly health specialty clinics, and professionals speaking about veterans benefits, crime prevention, and behavior and communication techniques.
Three delicious meals are offered, featuring both a la carte and specialty entrees. Each meal consists of three healthy courses; a homemade soup and dessert are part of each meal. Our residents enjoy room service each evening when our complimentary snack cart makes the rounds dispensing fresh baked goodies and milk before bedtime.
What a special event – residents, families, dept heads, staff, vendors – all took part in recognizing and thanking our Veterans! You could see the pride in each veteran and how much this day meant to them – if we could only truly express how much their efforts mean to all of us – we […]
