About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Pikesville — and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Set on acres of beautifully landscaped courtyards, Emeritus at Pikesville is considered one of the premier retirement communities in Maryland. Located just off of 695 and only minutes from Route 83(Jones Falls Expressway), our community sits in the middle of Pikesville close to the countryside. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
With its family-friendly atmosphere, Emeritus at Pikesville feels like home the moment you walk through the doors. Our common areas — including our lovely dining room and TV room — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including resident clubs, spiritual faith programs, trips and outings, physical fitness programs, musical programs, and family get-togethers.
Emeritus at Pikesville is conveniently located in an urban area, near the Woodholme Country Club, Kingdom Center Mall, Village Shopping Center, Mondawmin Mall, PNC Bank and Silver Creek Park. Several medical facilities are also close by, including Northwest, Sinai, GBMC, Patient First Medical Center, John Hopkins Adult Specialties and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
We have developed great relationships with other healthcare providers. By working as a team with these other providers, we are able to provide better continuity of care than many of our competitors.
Emeritus at Pikesville has nurses available 24 hours a day, either on-site or on-call. There are always nurses on site from at least 7am to 11pm. We have a core group of our Care Staff that has been here for many years. They are passionate about seniors and the care that they give them.
Brookdale is known for hiring some of the most compassionate, dedicated individuals in the senior living industry – individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our residents and in the communities in which they live.
Our Community Lifestyle
Independent Senior Living
If your loved one can still do everything for themselves, but would like to live among peers, this is a very good option for them. Residents of independent living communities continue to live the same lifestyle they did at home. These communities usually have on-site staff members that provide a small amount of supervision. These communities offer a “maintenance-free” living option, and often offer extensive activities, events and programs for their residents. Many studies have proven that being socially active is good for both mental and physical health.
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Emeritus at Pikesville offers a very large variety of programs to make sure that our residents remain active – both physically and mentally. We also offer many cultural and spiritual activities for those looking to maintain or grow their faith. We host and participate in a variety of Community Events. We are an active participant in the Alzheimer’s Association and a variety of other senior organizations. We have a special focus on educating the community on the various obstacles that seniors face including financial, spiritual, and health related.
Our skilled and knowledgeable chefs prepare three healthy, flavorful meals and three snacks a day. They also work closely with our registered dieticians to accommodate residents with a variety of dietary modifications, from low sugar to no salt-added diets.
Emeritus at Pikesville’s LED Dena’s biggest initiative was to reach every resident in her community. She has a list she marks when they come out for programs. Every day, she knocks on doors to check residents she hasn’t seen for a while. Dena has elevated her technology program to the next level by now introducing […]
