About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Pinehurst — and throughout Brookdale assisted living communities — has shared since 1998, when Pinehurst first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care.
The Perfect Location
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with an outdoor courtyard, meandering trails and lovely gardens, Emeritus at Pinehurst is one of the premier Alzheimer’s communities in Eastern Texas. Located near Loop 323 and Rice and Broadway, our senior living community offers 30 apartments on one floor for easy access. Here our residents enjoy retirement living in a warm, family-like atmosphere. Yet a helping hand from our warm, caring staff is always close by.
A Wonderful Selection
Our common areas — including our lovely dining room, library and activities center — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including socials and off-site excursions. Emeritus at Pinehurst is in a residential area convenient to the local mall, grocery stores and numerous banks and retail shops. East Texas Medical Center, Trinity Mother Frances Hospital and a nursing home rehabilitation center are also close by if ever needed.
Brookdale is known for hiring some of the most compassionate, dedicated individuals in the senior living industry – individuals who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our residents and in the communities in which they live.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderfully Active Lifestyle
Emeritus at Pinehurst life enrichment directors plan a variety of exciting and educational events throughout the year, ranging from brain health fairs to Fourth of July barbecues to Thanksgiving feasts. The goal is to keep our residents socially engaged and provide their families the opportunity to learn and celebrate with them.
The primary goal of our life enrichment staff is to plan activities that are fun for residents, while also promoting brain health. Brookdale Senior Living retirement activities incorporate all the chief components of brain health, including the nutritional, social, spiritual, physical and intellectual aspects of mental well-being. The result is a wide variety of stimulating programs for our residents, include Walking Club, Game Club, Tai Chi, Yoga, dance classes, guest speakers and excursions to cultural events, just to name a few.
Our goal is to support your loved one in being purposeful and successful each day. We use the detailed Life Story to understand your loved ones hobbies, careers and interests and then turn these ideas into activities in which they can participate in every day.
Dining services at Emeritus at Pinehurst are the social events of the day. Our chefs are proud of their culinary skills and always concerned about serving residents food that they’ll enjoy. Each meal offers a choice of a main entrée and alternative. We partner with our resident food committee to ensure that their tastes are being represented in our seasonal menus.
