About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Port Orange— and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since 2000, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Port Orange is perfectly situated between businesses and residences giving us a small-town feel with the conveniences of a metropolitan area. The dining and shopping choices are abundant with many within walking distance. Also, the Halifax Hospital group has a fine medical facility within 5 miles of our community. The property is located only 2 miles from the heart of Port Orange, close to Interstate 95 and State Road 415, making it far enough away to be out of the bustle and noise, yet close enough for convenience.
Our resident excursions on our 15-passenger, wheelchair-accessible bus include scenic drives along the coast to enjoy some of Florida’s finest beaches and State Parks. And with Daytona Beach only a 15 minute drive from Emeritus at Port Orange, our residents can easily access the Museum of Art and Science, the Daytona Beach Dog Track, the News Journal Entertainment Center and much more.
A Wonderful Selection
We offer a variety of senior apartments to choose from, including friendship suites or private apartments depending on your needs. All 85 apartments have wall-to-wall carpeting and window treatments. A majority of the apartments have views of our lush landscaping with mature trees, flowering hedges and pond. Additionally, all apartments are individually climate controlled and completely maintenance free.
Our community has ample common space for all residents to enjoy. Many entertainers set up in our cozy living room to share their talents and often use our baby grand piano. Our Port Orange Cafe is the place to catch a continental breakfast if you aren’t an early riser and to enjoy fresh-baked cookies and popcorn daily. And our library offers a diverse selection of reading material along with daily opportunities to work on a jigsaw puzzle. A favorite among all residents is the southern hospitality of our wrap-around porch, complete with wicker chairs, hanging flower baskets and flowing conversation. Our community gives residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another and enjoy each other’s company.
Emeritus at Port Orange is without a doubt one of the true flagship assisted living communities in Port Orange. We are very proud of our reputation for delivering excellence in care for both the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. The key to our success comes from our staff members, all of whom serve as extended family to each resident. The longevity of our staff averages over five years. We are very selective about who we choose to serve our seniors.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Our residents have a wide variety of options to choose from, when it comes to enjoying a wonderful and active lifestyle. There are many opportunities for events, activities and lots of socializing. Your loved one may prefer dining with friends in the dining room, watching a movie in our Activity Room, playing a lively game of bridge, enjoying a good book in the library, or strolling along our walking path. Our residents are always enjoying their leisure time.
Our Life Enrichment Director solicits input from the residents to develop a diverse social program that appeals to everyone. We offer a daily exercise class, Newcomers Social, cooking demonstrations, musical entertainers, lunch and shopping excursions, scenic drives and so much more!
