About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Rancho Mirage – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 2000, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Rancho Mirage is nestled in the heart of the desert, at the corner of Country Club Drive and John L. Sinn Road. We are conveniently located across from the premier health-care facility, Eisenhower Medical Center, and surrounded by prestigious country clubs, fine dining and shopping. Emeritus at Rancho Mirage is the only community in the desert that offers Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, and Skilled Nursing Care – allowing residents the ability to age in place. Our community rests on approximately 5 acres, surrounded by lush grounds, citrus trees, a trickling water feature, and a flat walking path surrounding the property. Inside, we offer 140 rooms and apartments, which include 90 Assisted Living apartments, 24 Memory Care apartments, and 45 Skilled Nursing beds. Our small, yet active, community offers both a wide range of apartment sizes and floor plans to suit every need – from studios to single bedrooms and two-bedroom apartments. Depending on which apartment you select, the view from your windows will range from mountain landscapes, courtyards, or a water feature. Emeritus at Rancho Mirage is one of the only senior living communities in the desert that features a pool and spa. Each Assisted Living apartment comes equipped with kitchenettes, emergency response systems, and easy-access walk-in showers. Bathtiques are available throughout the community for those who wish to soak in a Jacuzzi tub. Our Memory Care neighborhood offers studios and companion suites, and our Skilled Nursing Unit has both private and semi-private suites. Each suite is completely furnished, includes a half bath and an emergency response system. Each unit has its very own kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and microwave. Also, the bathrooms are all equipped with full walk-in showers and wheelchair-accessible sink units.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Emeritus at Rancho Mirage maintains strong professional relationships with Eisenhower Medical Center, local physicians and specialists, hospice agencies, the Alzheimer’s Association, Joslyn Senior Center and many more local resources. In addition, our residents and staff have participated in the Meals on Wheels Program serving more than 60 homebound seniors for the past five years.
Emeritus at Rancho Mirage prides itself on the longevity of our team – which is comprised of caring, friendly professionals who have been serving seniors for well over 30 years. In fact, 20 of our employees joined our team when the building first opened in 2000. And the longevity of our Resident Assistants and Medication Technicians shows commitment and dedication, reaffirming our brand promise, “Our Family is Committed to Yours.”
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
At Emeritus at Rancho Mirage, our activities are offered seven days a week. The program is run by a certified Life Enrichment Director. With her creativity and the input of our Resident Activity Planning Committee, we draft a monthly calendar that is designed with the residents’ preferences in mind. Some of our activities include monthly themed events aside from holidays and include our August Ho Down, September Luau, and the October Haunted House, to name a few. Our residents also keep active in our outdoor pool, where they enjoy swimming, engage in water therapy, or simply relish some warm relaxation on a cool autumn evening.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
We annually host a variety of seasonal events throughout the desert valley allowing all seniors to engage in programs both social and charitable like the Alzheimer’s Association “Walk to End Alzheimer’s,” supporting and contributing to the Joselyn Senior Center Annual 4th of July Celebration luncheon, baking cookies weekly for the Meals on Wheels program. We also provide intergenerational support exchanges with local schools, churches and clubs.
Our Senior Chef and Dining Services Director have more than 15 years’ experience in providing restaurant-quality fine-dining services. Although we offer a seasonal menu, which include three meals a day, we also offer an alternative menu allowing residents to customize their daily meal selections. Our warm and friendly wait staff ensures our residents enjoy a five-star experience while socializing and conversing with other residents. Should you wish to simply enjoy a continental breakfast, we have a “country kitchen” on our second level where residents can help themselves to fresh pastries, cold cereals, yogurt, coffee, tea, assortment of juices, and milk. Should you wish to dine in your apartment, for a small fee, you can have room service delivered right to your door.
Every Thursday our Life Enrichment department leads a cookie baking team, which provides cookies to 65 seniors in need around the Coachella Valley. Today, we have a special guest providing assistance while our Life Enrichment Director is taking some time off. Executive Director Theresa Ward is leading the group as they bake Peanut Butter cookies [...]
