About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Richland Gardens — and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities — has shared since 1999, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.
The Perfect Location
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds, Emeritus at Richland Gardens has an outstanding reputation with a decade of experience providing service to seniors. Located near Highway 240 and I-82 on Gage Boulevard, our community offers 100 senior apartments on two floors. We are conveniently located near the Columbia Center Mall, Kadlec, Lourdes and Kennewick General Hospitals, physician clinics and a rehabilitation facility (if ever needed). Emeritus at Richland Gardens has everything you may need a short distance away.
Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
With its warm, family-friendly atmosphere, Emeritus at Richland Gardens feels like home the moment you walk through the doors. We have an abundance of open spaces and common areas for residents, loved ones, and their visitors. Residents can enjoy the cozy fireplace in the living room or gather in our media room and watch movies and play Wii bowling.
Our Bistro Room is perfect for family gatherings, games and cooking and craft classes. The community Library/Living Room is always available and features a pinochle table, puzzles and a TV area. There is plenty of room to explore and enjoy each day at Emeritus at Richland Gardens.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Our commitment to our residents involves building and maintaining meaningful relationships with Kadlec Regional Medical Center, skilled nursing facilities, rehab centers such as Richland Rehabilitation, Life Care Centers and Avalon, senior centers, and elder care associations. We regularly visit key professionals in their facilities and invite them to tour and visit our community. Keeping our communication and relationships current and open enables our staff to give the most complete assistance to our residents.
Many of our residents feel our team members truly are extended family. Several of our staff has worked at Emeritus at Richland Gardens for well over ten years. Needless to say, we have some great experiences to share! Every dedicated team member is expected and encouraged to stay educated in their field of expertise.
All staff is up-to-date on fundamentals of care, dementia and mental health issues and take pride in the certificates of completion awarded. When potential residents and their families visit, we often hear they are impressed by the level of care they observe when walking through our community. Each staff member in our community is trained to treat everyone with respect, honor and personal dignity. We seek to find those who have a passion to serve seniors.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Our residents are active on a daily basis. Our Life Enrichment Director loves to challenge each resident to try something new. Activities range from our “Balloons” game to educational guest speakers or local musical guests. Take a stroll down our hallways and discover the great decorations our residents share with us.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Families and residents love to contribute to local charities through volunteer programs, providing space for concerts, meetings, and health information forums. We have regular group projects we share with the local senior center, provide decorations for a local community bazaar or fundraiser, or help support local school performances. Several of our residents volunteer at the hospital, senior center, or local churches.
Cooking meals can be a joy or a chore. Many of our residents look forward to our relaxing, restaurant-style, meals. Our Dining Services Director/cook is an experienced chef and serves some of the best tasting meals in the area. Family members enjoy joining their loved ones for meals and we love to serve them. Many of our staff members choose to eat meals here as well.
Residents are free to order from our daily menu or an “a la carte” menu for each meal. Not only do we do “down-home” cooking good enough for grandma, but we have some really scrumptious desserts and salads, too. Be sure to check out our Thanksgiving Family Feast. It’s really special!
