About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Snohomish – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities has shared since 2004, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our assisted living community.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Snohomish is located in the beautiful old town of Snohomish. It is an historic site, popular to many. There are always antique shoppers roaming the streets for that precious find and bicyclists passing through on their way to a grand adventure. We are right across from Emerson Elementary so the residents can enjoy the joyful sounds of children at play. Add all this to our park-like setting and cottage lifestyle and what could be more perfect! We are close to parks, clinics and local culture.
A Wonderful Selection
This beautiful community is located in the midst of a charming residential neighborhood. There are 6 cottages serving 84 residents, each staffed with Resident Assistants available 24/7 to assist with activities of daily living. Each cottage is like a large house with 14 bedrooms. Each studio has a private half-bath; some have kitchenettes, and plenty of space for the necessities as well as the precious memorabilia. What makes Emeritus at Snohomish so special is the friendliness of the people who work there and the overall “feel good” feeling you get when you visit.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Thanks to our excellent care program, we have healthy professional relationships with the local clinics, home health agencies and hospitals. Some of our best referrals come from the discharge planners, physicians and social workers in these organizations. These particular organizations have first hand knowledge of our care levels. Many of their clients are our residents.
Our residents and their families often describe our staff as kind, loving and friendly. We are proud of our team members, who go above and beyond to serve each one of our residents, providing them the dignity and respect that they deserve.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
It’s a Wonderful Life; Bingo, pinochle, cribbage, bridge, poker, scenic rides, picnics, ice cream socials, arts & crafts…and the list goes on. There are least 8 activities to choose from in a day. The Life Enrichment Director is always on the run. After morning exercise the bus leaves with a group for a grocery store/library trip. Back by noon for lunch, then there is arts and crafts, a social at 3pm and the day winds down at 6pm with jokes and funny stories.
Partnering with the Local Community
Every year our local Chamber of Commerce sponsors an Easter Parade. The ladies go to the local Senior Center to decorate hats and then ride in the community bus for the parade.. Many of the residents are charmed every month by the FFA (Future Farmers of America) and the local Girl Scouts Troup when the kids host a social for them. They always bring something for the residents whether it is a treat or a handmade gift.
We serve all American homemade food with the taste and comfort of home. Each cottage serves breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant style. There is always a main entrée and an alternate plus menu items for special dietary needs.
Holidays are always festive. Thanksgiving and Christmas are celebrated family style and many special occasions are celebrated with food. Birthdays and anniversaries, Halloween, Super bowl, Easter, Valentines, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Cinco d’Mayo, Fourth of July and the list goes on. Our dining experience is special because the residents have choice, small dining rooms with never more than 16 seats and it is just like home.
Team Snohomish enjoyed a Sunday walk to end Alzheimer. Many generations of people passionate about finding a cure to this disease. Residents and son of CRD Marcee Kerns, Jimmy Kerns all had a great time.
