About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
A Perfect Location
Located on over 4 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Emeritus at South Hill is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with a view of Brown’s Mountain. A natural wildlife wetland area, with water feature, can be found on the property as you stroll about the peaceful grounds. Conveniently, we are approximately 8 minutes from two of the region’s most prestigious hospitals; Rockwood Health System’s Deaconess Medical Center and Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, as well as numerous physician’s clinics, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Within walking distance, our resident’s enjoy shopping at Albertsons, banking, places of worship, restaurants, ice cream and coffee establishments, including Starbucks.
A Wonderful Selection
At Emeritus at South Hill, our senior apartments are rented month-to-month. There is no buy-in or lease fees required. Our Studio, Studio Deluxe, 1 and 2 Bedroom apartments are fully carpeted, with individual climate control. Our residents can feel secure with their emergency call pendants complete with a “resident locator” feature within the building. Our residents enjoy the privacy of their own individual apartment within a community of care and support. Each apartment includes a kitchenette complete with refrigerator, microwave and sink, as well as their own spacious private bathroom with a no-barrier shower and plenty of grab bars throughout.
Our Staff…a Community of Care and Support
The Resident Care Team, including the Executive Director, Resident Care Director (RN) and Wellness Coordinator, oversees the care and services provided to our residents 24/7 by our specially-trained Resident Aids and Medication Technicians (Med Techs). In addition, our community offers full-time Maintenance, Life Enrichment, Business Office and Dietary Services Directors. Each are commissioned to serve our residents needs and to enrich their lives by making their residency personally fulfilling, pleasant and carefree.
Our Community Lifestyle
Our Dietary Services Director, and his staff, endeavor to make our resident’s dining experience enjoyable and satisfying. Our chef’s daily mission is to offer variety and quality in the dining room, and strive to exceed expectations for presentation and taste. The DSD also oversees a monthly Resident Food Committee, where residents have the opportunity to express their food preferences and make suggestions in making their dining experience exceptional. In addition, this committee selects a special menu which is to be served for the monthly “Resident Choice” meal.
Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Our Life Enrichment Director designs a robust schedule of activities, outings and other social programs designed to add joy, purpose and meaning to the lives of each resident. They enjoy things like regular outings to the local casinos, restaurants, city parks and scenic drives. Weekly art class, exercise, Tai Chi and regularly scheduled entertainers can be found on the monthly activity calendar, along with Wii games, radio theater and movies, to name a few.
The Importance of Pets
Numerous studies have shown that when we spend time loving our pets we feel better! Pets are loyal and lovable, and offer us unconditional devotion. They bring out our instincts for nurturing; we feel needed and relied upon. Our stress levels decrease as they allow us to hold, stroke, groom, or just play with them. For most pet owners, the relaxation our animals provide us by just being there as our friend, enriches our daily life, can lower blood pressure and improve our mental and emotional well-being.
Because we value this time-tested connection people have with their pets, Emeritus at South Hill invites you to have your small pet live with you at our community. We gladly accept most small pets with a minimal pet deposit and size requirement.
