About Our Community
Brookdale Staunton, formerly Emeritus of Staunton, is conveniently located near the intersection of the Woodrow Wilson Parkway (Rt. 262) and Churchville Avenue (Rt. 250) in the country setting of Northwest Staunton. Our community features Mountainside views in a natural setting where deer frequently roam our campus, along with various species of birds. Though our community is located in a beautiful and quiet area of town, we are also very close to the major shopping districts and attractions within Staunton (Downtown – two miles, Mary Baldwin College – two miles, Gypsy Hill Park – one mile, Staunton Mall – five miles). Additionally, Staunton is a short drive to Waynesboro/Augusta Health Hospital (14 miles), Harrisonburg/JMU (30 miles), Lexington/VMI/W&L (35 miles) and Charlottesville/UVA (40 miles).
Set on 22 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard and lovely gardens, Brookdale Staunton is considered one of Virginia’s premier retirement communities. Located close to Highways 250, 11, 64 and I-81, our community offers 99 apartments on two floors. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
The main common areas (i.e. dining room, activities area, etc.) are located in the center of our two-story community that is easily accessible for all apartment locations. We offer spacious studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom senior apartments that all feature private baths, kitchenettes and great window views to the surrounding area. Our warm, inviting, family-friendly atmosphere is what makes our community most appealing to our residents and families.
Our caring staff takes great pride in doing their best to meet each residents need through an individual resident-centered care philosophy, catered to the needs of each resident. Our staff is what makes Emeritus of Staunton so special.

Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
Our Life Enrichment/Activities Director is one of our most tenured management staff member at our community and can be described as “the backbone of our community” by our residents. We offer a wide variety of activities every day of the week, 365 days of the year.
With its family-friendly atmosphere, Brookdale Staunton feels like home the moment you walk through the doors. Our common areas — including our lovely dining room, library and TV room — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including several active clubs, weekly shopping trips, van rides and outings to seasonal events. While Brookdale Staunton is located in a rural area, our community is close to Staunton Mall, Wal-Mart, Waynesboro Town Center and Gypsy Hill Park. Our community is also convenient to Augusta Medical Center and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Not only does Brookdale Staunton enjoy an excellent reputation within the Staunton area, our community is involved in various activities that benefit the Staunton community as a whole. From the Alzheimer’s Walk, the Christmas Parade and Gypsy Hill Park holiday decorations, to our annual Apple Butter Sale, we are a prevalent participant in community events and causes. These activities not only benefit our residents, but they benefit the surrounding community as well.
Brookdale Staunton offers three delicious, healthy, well-rounded meals daily, with entrée options for each resident. Additionally, our residents can expect select meals on a variety of special occasions throughout the year.
