About Our Community
We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.
This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Towson – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 2000, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our assisted living community.
The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Towson is in a great location. We are 2-3 miles from two major interstates (695/83). There is a mall within 3 miles and dozens of stores. The community sits next door to two hospitals, which are less than a mile away. There is another hospital located about 3 miles away.
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at Towson is considered one of the premier Maryland assisted living facilities. Located close to Highway 695, our community offers a variety of apartments all on three floors. Here our residents – in many cases, with their pets – enjoy retirement living. Yet should you need a helping hand from our warm and caring staff, we also offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible.
A Wonderful Selection
The physical community has been described as being warm and inviting. We are currently receiving renovations, which includes painting, new carpet, a new fence for Memory Care’s outside area, and new furniture. We have a beautiful sitting area out back and a paved path for residents to walk around the entire community. Our community has an on-site beauty salon, spacious common areas, which include living rooms, libraries, and recreational areas.
With its family-friendly atmosphere, Emeritus at Towson feels like home the moment you walk through the doors. Our common areas – including our lovely dining room, library and TV room – give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including outings to local attractions. Emeritus at Towson is conveniently located in a residential area, near Towson Town Center. Several medical facilities are also close by, including St. Josephs and Sheppard Pratt and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed.
The staffing at Emeritus in Towson is very diverse. We have some individuals who have been at this location since it opened. The staff is very caring and hardworking. They consistently strive to live the Brookdale values as visitors often comment on how everyone is pleasant and helpful.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
We brag about our calendar being full with over 200 activities per month, which includes daily current events and a stimulating exercise program that is offered 5 days per week. We also provide a weekly happy hour every Friday beginning at 3pm. The community also offers monthly outings to restaurants, department stores, plays, etc. We also offer quarterly family/ community festivities. The community provides a bi-weekly service to our daily bread where they make sandwiches for the homeless. Emeritus at Towson has relationships with GBMC hospital physicians, Gilchrist hospice care, Bayada nursing and the Alzheimer’s association. Our Memory Care Director also has a relationship with the Dementia Care Consortium.
We are restaurant style dining. Also, we have a private dining room available for special occasions. Guest meals are available upon request. Every morning, residents can enjoy continental breakfast located in the common area dining areas as well as the bistro. Occasionally, we offer special dinners, which also includes holiday time meals. Our dining services director has over 15 years of dining experience.
