About Our Community

We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do.

This is the promise that the staff at Emeritus at Tucson – and throughout Brookdale Senior Living communities – has shared since 1998, when our community first opened its doors. It’s a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful – a promise to become extended family to the seniors who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location

Emeritus at Tucson is a warm and home-like retirement community located on the northwest side of Tucson in the foothills close to Marana. We are only 5 miles from downtown Tucson, and convenient for to shopping, entertainment, cultural activities and restaurants. There are also many parks and recreation areas surrounding the community which allow for great outdoors and field trips. We are also close to the hospital and physician offices, if needed.

A Wonderful Selection

Emeritus at Tucson has 50 senior apartments, all on one level with a lovely courtyard in the center. We have spacious common areas including a living room with a fireplace, and a dining room that accommodates all residents and their guests. Our ice cream parlor is one of the residents’ favorite places to go. It is situated right next to our gallery, where an abundance of activities are available including television, a movie or reminiscing about the past. If a resident wants to enjoy the garden and does not want to go outside, they can sit in the cozy and bright Arizona Room just inside the courtyard. Additionally, we love to play board games, and have a spelling bee or a happy hour in our warm and inviting living areas located in the front of the community. We offer home-cooked meals, a wide variety of activities and off-site outings. Emeritus at Tucson wants to make sure our residents are comfortable and living life to its fullest.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

We have strong community relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers. We focus on communication with all our physicians and health care professionals to provide the best possible care for our residents.

Our Staff

Emeritus at Tucson is proud of the longevity of our experienced staff. We have staff members that have been here for as long as 11 years. Our dedication in selecting and training our staff to work as a team is the reason for our longevity. This team is the best team in Tucson!

Our Community Lifestyle

A Wonderful Active Lifestyle

At Emeritus at Tucson, our focus is to create an atmosphere that will enhance our residents’ quality of life. We strive to fill their days with laughter and joy by providing them with daily activities that reflect their interests. We provide a calendar of enriching activities for our residents that includes choices in social, physical, mental, spiritual, cultural and creative experiences to stimulate their minds, bodies and souls. Our residents are always encouraged to participate. Residents enjoy a variety of activities including outdoor excursions, games, social events and clubs, all with the security of knowing that care is available if needed.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Emeritus at Tucson is active in our local community. Our family nights include guest speakers to inform and educate our families and outside guests regarding health care and financial issues. We also host a variety of events that spiritually nurture our community.

Our staff and residents feel it’s important to recognize community organizations and causes that we rely on for assistance and resources. One way we do this is by hosting an annual pancake breakfast for our community firefighters and emergency medical technicians to show our gratitude for their dedicated support to our community. We also participate in the Senior Special Olympics and the annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk.

Fine Dining

Emeritus at Tucson serves three homemade meals in our delightful dining area each day. Meals are served on china in a restaurant-style atmosphere so that residents can enjoy conversation with the company at their table while enjoying a satisfying culinary experience.
