Brookdale Wekiwa Springs, formerly Emeritus at Wekiwa Springs, is located close to Routes 436 and 429. We are appealingly located in a residential area, yet a mere five miles from the Altamonte Mall, several restaurants, state of the art medical facilities such as the Florida hospital network and rehabilitation facilities. Apopka is a lovely suburb with a personal hometown feel.
Brookdale Wekiwa Springs is set on eight acres of beautiful landscaped grounds with a courtyard and walking trails. The sunny climate of central Florida provides many opportunities to visit historic Mount Dora, ample lakes and parks, as well as the beautiful Wekiwa Springs National Park.
A Wonderful Selection
Our intimate, homey community has 67 senior apartments on two floors with an elevator for easy access. Whether dining with friends in the dining room, relaxing with a good book in the library or kicking back in the TV room, gazing at the stars under the gazebo or strolling with friends along the walking paths in the courtyard, it gives residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another and enjoy each other’s company. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, home cooked meals, and off-site excursions. Each day at Brookdale Wekiwa Springs is about living life to the fullest and letting us take care of all the mundane daily chores. For our more independent residents, we offer ten maintenance-free cottages which include weekly housekeeping, two meals per day, and transportation services. A Wonderful Place to Live
At Brookdale Wekiwa Springs senior living community we value our residents’ opinions and we rely on their feedback at our monthly resident council meeting to plan activities they enjoy. Each day is filled with a variety of vibrant conversation, physical exercise, and stimulating activities such as Wii bowling, crosswords, brain teasers and music! Additionally, we enjoy happy hour most Friday afternoons and the weekends are just as lively with ice cream socials on Saturdays and scenic drives on Sundays.
Residents at Brookdale Wekiwa Springs enjoy a diverse activity program. For example, they enjoy daily exercise programs, monthly art classes, frequent lunch outings, pet therapy, a variety of spiritual outlets, and our gentleman residents enjoy dominoes and weekly poker games.
Partnering with the Local Community
We participate in local health and community trade shows on a quarterly basis and the annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. Brookdale Wekiwa Springs is passionate about being active in the community of Apopka. Our focus is to hold or participate in events that will nurture the spirit of the people of Apopka and to be a resource to them.
Three homemade meals are served each day. Each meal offers a salad and choice of hearty soup to start, along with an entree and desert. Meals are served in a restaurant-style atmosphere so that residents can enjoy conversation with the company at their table while enjoying a satisfying culinary experience. For the past six years, Ms. Julie Jones has managed the dining services department with a commitment to incorporating residents’ favorite family recipes and treating them to many specialty dining experiences throughout the year.
