Our community is an amazing location for an active lifestyle, social opportunities and a healthy way of life. Right outside the front doors you find a walking path that wraps around Wilsonville. The community center/senior center is within a few blocks and offers a wide range of programs, services, and recreational opportunities that promote health, wellness, and enjoyment. The Wilsonville library is one of the finest in the state. The library programs include: book clubs, concerts, educational forums and more. The Smart Bus program is a free Wilsonville community bus transportation program, which also travels outside the city, for a nominal charge. Our community, while in a residential neighborhood, is close in the interstate, hospitals and only 30 minutes from Portland, Oregon.
A Wonderful Selection
Brookdale Wilsonville’s common areas are very open. Upon entering the community, the Fireside Living Room has a 2 story spacious feel with comfortable, inviting furnishings. The dining room is off the Fireside room with a double doors opening onto the patio. There is a huge grass yard surrounding the building with an extensive area for gardening. There are raised beds and areas for in ground plantings. Brookdale Wilsonville has studio, 1 and 2 bedroom senior apartments. All of the apartments look out over our yard, garden or trees. In addition to the Fireside room, there is a movie room with big screen TV and overstuffed chairs, pool table and game tables. Pets are welcomed, and encouraged.
Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
Brookdale Wilsonville is a strong member of the Wilsonville community. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce, participate at the senior center which includes sponsoring programs, and is known as a place to get resource information for seniors and the community at large. We have a partnership with the rehab centers in the area, the local hospital and home care and hospice agencies that serve our residents. Through these partnerships, and being a good neighbor in the Wilsonville community, we are very welcoming and have contacts and access to information and resources to assist all seniors.
Next to our residents, the staff make Brookdale Wilsonville what it is. In addition to the admin staff, there is a full dining staff, whose only job is serving our residents and families. In the assisted care, there are exceptional care and med aids caring for residents 24 hours a day. In the independent living area, there is a staff member on duty 24 hours a day in cases of emergency. The staff live the Brookdale values every day.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful Active Lifestyle
Residents at Brookdale Wilsonville create our activity program, it is their interests that are on the calendar. Each day there is an exercise and walking program, games of some sort, devotions, and opportunities for social interaction. Several times a week there are trips to local stores, the theater, local sites, concerts, or country drives. We have entertainment programs in the building, at least, every week. This might include a local musical or singing group, or a group of high school kids leading the residents in a game of charades. There is guys night out, and lady’s lunch. Twice a week we provide transportation to doctor appointments. We frequently have local professionals (doctors, politicians, etc.) in for an education forum.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Brookdale Wilsonville participates in all local events, either as a sponsor or as a participant. Wilsonville has an annual Festival of the Arts, and we sent a bus full of residents over to the local park to enjoy the music and arts. The Chamber has an annual Food Fest, and we will sponsor a booth. By participation on community events, it allows the residents to stay connected to their community. In addition, our community is visible to the community at large. We have a strong partnerships with many of the local churches, who volunteer and bring the community in.
The dining program is resident driven. The Dining Services Director meets with the residents on a monthly basis to listen to their ideas and suggestions. The meals are served restaurant style, versus buffet, and ordered off of a menu. Breakfast and lunch are both made to order and have a wide variety of selections. Dinner usually has two options with a choice of salads. Residents can always have something lighter if they wish. There are many special events throughout the year that consist of an amazing meal and families are always welcome.
