Mary’s Moving Onstage Interview
Pageant question: “Mary, why did you choose Emeritus Assisted Living as your new home and what has it done for you?”
Mary’s Answer: “The reason I came to Emeritus was in search of happiness. I was married 55 years when my husband lost his life to cancer in August of 2007. I moved to California to live with my sister and be close to his burial site, but I was not happy. I then moved to Vegas to live with my daughter, but I was miserable. So, I moved back to California. After a few months I decided to move to Washington to live with my other daughter. But happiness was not to be found. So, I once again moved back to California and that is when I began searching the internet for a place to call home. I contacted Emeritus and set up a couple of different tours. I was very excited and thought this would be a place I could call home.”
“I moved to Emeritus at Villa de Anza in April 2011. Since this time I have finally found a reason for living. I am involved in the choir and the drama club; as well as, calling Bingo, doing scrapbooking, arts and crafts, and working in the country store several times per week. I also enjoy assisting our activity director, Jake, by helping him with decorating, cooking and other miscellaneous projects.”
“I love the staff at Villa de Anza, as they are very helpful and kind. I have also met many good friends that I can truly call friends for life!”
“My time at Villa de Anza has been such a blessing for me and I would like to thank Emeritus for all they do for us!!! Thank You!”
