Our retirement community is located within just a few blocks of Mease Hospital of Dunedin and several rehabilitation centers. Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with mature trees, outdoor courtyard, and meandering trails; our community is about a mile from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, Honeymoon Island and Caledesi Island – one of the few completely natural islands along Florida´s gulf coast. Caladesi´s white sand beaches were rated America’s Best Beach in 2008.

A Wonderful Selection

Brookdale Dunedin offers 105 senior apartments on two floors, including both studio and one-bedroom apartments. Two residents can also share expenses by choosing the budget-friendly friendship suite – a spacious, specially-designed apartment, offering two beds, a shared kitchenette and a bathroom.

Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with an outdoor courtyard, meandering trails and lovely gardens; Brookdale Dunedin is designed to accommodate our residents’ needs, with an elevator for convenience, private dining room and banquet room for private parties, ice cream parlor, movie room, chapel, wellness center, barber and beauty parlor. We also welcome pets.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships

Our senior living community is strongly affiliated with Morton Plant Mease, Bay Care Health System, a not-for-profit health care system of hospitals, outpatient and surgical centers, immediate care centers, rehabilitation centers, wellness centers, a family health center and home health care agency. In fact, located at 601 Main Street, Mease Dunedin Hospital is less than a mile away.

Our Community Lifestyle

A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle

Our senior living community prides itself in offering our residents a wealth of activities, including chair yoga, noodleball, movies with popcorn, exercises, ceramics classes, coffee, trivia, bingo, cookie bakes, piano sing-a-longs, brain teasers, card and board games, current events, parrot therapy, ice cream socials, crochet instruction, health tips, “Name That Tune”, bead art projects, You Be the Judge, birthday parties, guitar music, and variety shows. Residents also enjoy occasional picnics in the park and scenic bus rides.

Every month, we offer residents and their loved ones the opportunity join us for our “friends and family night”, each centered around a themed meal celebrating the bounties of the season. For example, this past year, we hosted Winter Wonderland, Mardi Gras, Happy Birthday America, Summer Splash, Indian Summer, Oktoberfest and, of course, a variety of holiday celebrations.

Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community

Every year, we participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Emeritus at Dunedin also sponsors a monthly Alzheimer’s support group and a variety of senior health seminars open to the greater community, including “10 Tips for Health Living,” “Eat Right,” and “How to Prevent Falls.”

Fine Dining

Three homemade meals are served restaurant-style each day. Lunch begins with fresh salad greens, and dinner includes a chef’s choice and homemade soup of the day. In addition, Dunedin offers an “always available” dining menu with a wide range of choices, including hamburgers, turkey sandwiches, grilled cheese, catch of the day and much more.
