About Our Community
Brookdale Sterling, formerly Emeritus at Sterling, is located right off of Highway 7, in Sterling, Va. We are about a half mile from the Cascades Shopping Center and about three miles from Dulles Town Center. We are close to Claude Moore Park (which is recognized by the National Register) and the Guilford Signal Station (which is part of the Civil War Trails). Additionally we are close to the Heritage Farm Museum, The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center which is a nice outing for our residents.
A Wonderful Selection
Brookdale Sterling is a three-story assisted living community with five different floor plans. We have beautiful living rooms on every floor and sun rooms on the second and third floors. Our residents at Brookdale Sterling can pick a book off the shelves and read or just visit with loved ones. Our first floor living room has a fireplace where our residents can sit by the fire with a good book or cup of coffee. Additionally, there are nurses’ stations on every floor. While our residents dine in our tastefully appointed dining room, we have soft music from different eras playing. We also have an enclosed patio where our residents have cookouts and can relax outside. Brookdale Sterling is simply home to our residents and offers many activities throughout the day to keep our residents busy and entertained.
Strong, Caring, Professional Relationships
Genesis Rehab provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy for our residents. Genesis Rehab is located in our community on the third floor. The therapists work with the individual resident in the therapy gym or in the resident’s apartment. The therapists are accessible to all residents and work directly with the nursing staff to meet rehabilitation goals and to ensure all needs are met.
Brookdale Sterling staff is what makes our community special. We like to describe our community as a large family and its because of our staff, most of whom have been here for years. They know our residents routines, preferences, and what will put a smile on their faces. When you come join our family here at Brookdale Sterling, you will enjoy the appointment of caring CNAs and nurses, housekeeping, dining staff and our fabulous concierges who will come to know you like family.
Our Community Lifestyle
A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
One of the main reasons that people choose to live at the Brookdale Sterling is because of the wonderful, active lifestyle that we offer. Residents enjoy many activiities such as Sit and Be Fit, books on tape, Brain Ticklers, arts and crafts, Trivial Pursuit, shopping, movies, bingo and many other types of entertainment. When a resident joins our family we try to cultivate activities around their interests.
Partnering with the Local Neighborhood Community
Brookdale Sterling enjoys giving back to the local community. We also hold annual community events for family and friends and we also participate in many fundraising events for organizations. No matter day or night, summer or winter, Emeritus at Sterling invites the community at large to visit and join the festivities. Our doors are always open.
Brookdale Sterling offers thee meals a day served restaurant-style. Our menus are designed to be nutritionally balanced to best meet our residents’ nutritional needs. For example, there are always two main entrée choices and soup or salad and dessert. Our dietary staff can accommodate a physician’s ordered diet for our residents as well if needed. The knowledgeable staff in our dining room really make Brookdale Sterling stand out for its culinary choices.
