Virginia Wylie: Kindness

The poem is based on an observation that, as a former teacher, reminded me of a playground bully situation. The situation was resolved peacefully.

Somebody was rude to Nobody today
Careless words spoke perhaps in play
Somebody left feeling very tall
Nobody left feeling very small
Anybody took this chance to ask,
“Should we not take Somebody to task?
Suggest Somebody be Nobody instead?
Suggest they use their head and heart?”
Then Everybody their words would mind
And Everybody’s words would come out kind.
