Bingo Babe Jane

Jane is real and she was very happy this day.

Babes and Boys filled the Bingo room

The experts played two cards each

Those with one card faced certain doom

Jane and I had a goal to reach

To play one card only and win a bit

Bev, the caller, began the ritual

Letters and numbers, a pattern to fit

Chips landing on spaces, a steady accrual

Then, BINGO!, yelled Pearl

Bev checked, a win, a candy bar

At our table, Jane and I prepared to whirl

After all, the play hadn’t gone very far

Calls, games, wins, losses

Joe, Judy, and Alverda each won once

Calls, games, wins, losses

BINGO!  Jane won once

BINGO!  Jane won again

BINGO!  Jane won yet again

BINGO!  Believe it, Jane won again, four wins!

Bev called the “cover all,” last game

BINGO!  BINGO!  Jane and Carol both won, a tie!

Jane left the room all smiles, head held high

I could swear she was walking on air.

Next time Jane will play two cards, it’s fair

Jane, a full-fledged Bingo Babe!
