Sherry Reunites With Her Mother After 20 Years

Sherry White, age 74 and her mother, Elma Robinson, age 94, have a very special wish in common: they both long to see each other after 20 long years apart. Sherry lives in a Brookdale Assisted Living Community in Orlando, Florida and Elma resides in her home in Jamestown, Pennsylvania, over 1000 miles away.

With so many people easily traveling across the country and visiting loved ones, it may seem unusual that this mother and daughter duo have not seen each other in over 20 years! The warm and close relationship that they maintain across the miles with daily phone calls and care packages being sent, is heartwarming.

When talking with Sherry about what it would mean to see her mother again, she declared, “My mom means the world to me. It was my mom who was there to fill in as mom and dad to me when I was growing up. She is still there for me. I do not think I will see my mom again after this. She means the world to me!”

Elma concurred, “I have not seen my daughter Sherry in 20 years! It would mean the world to me to see her again since it has been so long.” Along with seeing her mom, Sherry's wish is to also attend her 56th High School Reunion, reconnecting with old friends that she has not seen in over 30 years.

With great joy, Wish of a Lifetime is thrilled to be partnering with Brookdale Senior Living to reunite this remarkable mother and daughter in Pennsylvania in September. Both of these seniors have been through quite a bit in their lives, yet their love and devotion to each other has remained constant over these years across the miles.
