Our community offers spacious, open floor plans. Our apartments include a small refrigerator, sink, microwave, an open sitting area and a privacy wall behind which is the bedroom area. A separate vanity area is outside of the bathroom, which includes a walk-in handicapped-accessible shower. Some of our apartments have French doors that open onto a patio.
The Adult Residential Care community has two atriums – one on each side of the building – with lovely skylights, tables and chairs. In one atrium, there is a library and the other has been transformed into a chapel. Our residents love visiting in our spacious living room, which has a large flat-screen television, piano and a fireplace.
Our Memory Care Neighborhood offers apartments set up just like our Adult Residential Care community, except that some rooms have linoleum instead of carpet. We do offer the option of a Friendship Suite, in which two residents share accommodations – but that’s totally up to the resident and their families. The Neighborhood includes a spacious living room with skylights and fireplace, two huge secured courtyards and two large patios off the dining and living rooms enable residents to easily enjoy the outdoors.
Brookdale Alexandria’s great location means you’ll have easy access to many stores and amenities. We take our residents on frequent outings to Super Wal-Mart, the Alexandria Mall, our local movie theater and Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center to enjoy live performances. Residents also enjoy scenic drives into the older parts of town, especially in the spring when the wild azaleas are blooming.
Our staff works closely with many of the physicians nearby, as well as with hospice agencies and inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation services. When residents require physical, occupational or speech therapy; we will provide referrals, but of course, it’s always up to the resident and family to decide with whom they’d like to work. Therapists can provide services on-site, in the convenience of the resident’s home.
When you stay at Brookdale Alexandria, you can have two different care options: Adult Residential Care (similar to Assisted Living) and Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care. With each one, our staff is dedicated to supporting and caring for the individual’s needs.
We offer a unique blend of service, care and hospitality for those looking to live an independent lifestyle but who also want to receive help performing certain daily tasks. Our community in Alexandria, LA has an impressive line of services and amenities to make your life a little easier.

We will take time to listen to you and understand your needs, and then craft a care program that’s right for you.
