What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Because we specialize in memory care, we purposely included such features as soothing wall colors and easy-to-navigate floor plans into our single-level community so residents feel safe and secure. With keypad entries, monitored exits and an enclosed patio, we will strive to help your loved one remain safe while having freedom of movement. And our residents and families have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
Our home-like common areas, such as the fireside living room and inviting dining room, encourage socialization, comfort and relaxation. When our residents need privacy, their apartment offers a quiet retreat. Filled with natural light from large windows, our apartments are a place for your loved one to be comforted by his or her own familiar furnishings, family photos and cherished keepsakes. We understand that pets are part of the family, so if you have a furry, four-legged, family member, bring him along. We’ll welcome him into the Brookdale family!
Consistent Care Assignments
We assign the same care providers to your loved one whenever possible to encourage familiarity and relationship-rich care. In addition, our attentive staff handles chores such as laundry and housekeeping while providing support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more. Not only do we carefully select top-notch staff, but we also invest in quality training and education to help keep our staff up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques.
Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with similar abilities to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include brain games, music programs, fitness classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing. Our Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based practice that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. We establish a routine to help your loved one maintain their abilities, encourage the use of current skills, and offer a sense of security and accomplishment.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Our care plans start with prioritizing independence. We are committed to person-centered partnerships. Our care model builds relationships based on trust, loving concern, and a sense of family. Knowing and being present in relationships with your loved one gives us a solid foundation to better support our residents through all stages of the disease. Our care associates are familiar with our residents’ histories, routines and preferences. This helps provide our residents with a sense of stability and comfort to know where they live.
