Quality, Compassionate Care
Our community specializes in delivering memory care accompanied with the upmost compassion to residents. But what does memory care entail?
Our staff works with those dealing with memory loss and helps them maintain their independence and dignity for as long as possible. We offer custom programs that provide loving care and meaningful interaction, resulting in our residents experiencing moments of success daily.
Our community has been specifically designed for those dealing with memory loss. So we can provide you with a secure and safe environment filled with apartments that have been adapted to fit seniors with forms of dementia.
Our compassionate staff has years of experience caring for those with memory loss, and have a level of knowledge and experience that many other senior living communities don’t posses.
Safe and Secure Environment
Brookdale College Square consists of four neighborhoods, with a total of 54 beds in our community. We are on one level and completely surrounded by a ten-foot fence with walking paths surrounding the community. Each neighborhood functions like a home with 13 studio rooms.
Each has its own bathroom with shower, and each neighborhood has its own kitchen, living room and dining room. Our community also has a common area with a large activity center, studio, beauty/barber shop and healthcare center.
All of the activities at our community are crafted for seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our memory care director provides a full range of daily activities and also provides smaller, neighborhood activities for each of our residents to enjoy as well.
We have a spacious van that we utilize for weekly outings and we have a large volunteer group that actively participates in our activities programs.
Dining Tailored To Residents
Our dining experience is uniquely designed for the resident with dementia. We provide three meals and three snacks per day with several options. We also provide finger foods that allow more independence and offer dignity to those who could not otherwise eat unassisted.
Brookdale provides a nationally recognized dining experience that improves the quality of life for our residents to ensure proper hydration and nutrition, which is critical for those with Dementia.

At Brookdale College Square, you aren’t just another senior to us. You are a person who deserves to be treated as an individual with specific needs and desires. As a Memory Care resident, this is what you can expect from our type of care.
Our staff takes a person-centered approach to our Memory Care residents. We view all residents as individuals, and we take time to get to know each one of our seniors — their likes, dislikes, interests, family history, and much more. We believe this personalization allows us to care for our seniors with a gentle hand and kind heart. Something we strive to do everyday.
Our goal is to help residents maintain their abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. And we do all of this while respecting our residents and treating them with the upmost dignity. To help our residents be successful, we offer a gentle daily structure where residents enjoy at least six programs daily. The programs can vary but all are designed to provide daily moments of success for our seniors.
A few examples of programs are:
- Dementia-Friendly Menus that provide diverse offerings designed to help prevent weight-loss. Selections are easy to manage, familiar and appealing to the senses.
- Individualized Dining Assistance includes evaluating each resident to determine the level of prompting assistance needed to preserve their use of utensils as long as possible.
- The Supportive Dining Environment, which incorporates small dining rooms with consistent seating to support the challenges of those with dementia, this encourages familiarity and socialization while supporting the needs of the residents through the assignment of resident care assistants. Music, centerpieces, warm, scented wash towels and fresh linens enhance the dining experience.
