Brookdale Cotswold offers a beautiful assisted living and Alzheimer’s and dementia care community for seniors. Our loving family redefines life for residents, respecting their individuality, and allowing them to spend their days at they choose, feeling confident and capable. We offer all of the comforts of home, in addition to resort-like amenities and without any of the chores or tedious tasks of home maintenance.
We provide a continuum of care, meaning that residents can remain where they are within our community even if their needs change over time. This is comforting to many of our residents, because they don’t have to worry about relocating and separating from familiar surroundings and friendships. Our emphasis is on helping you maintain your independence and health, through the numerous services we provide, the compassionate care we offer, and the engaging opportunities made available to you.
We are located by the Cotswold Shopping Center, Mint Museum and across from a wide selection of physician offices, so it’s convenient to run errands or enjoy local entertainment. We’re also the closest senior living community to Presbyterian and CMC hospital, so you’ll have peace of mind if any additional medical care is needed.
Our beautiful Victorian mansion offers a comfortable, home-like environment with a wrap-around porch where you can have your morning coffee and an evening cocktail. A winding staircase opens up into the living room and you’ll find multiple rooms where you can enjoy the company of others, or watch your favorite show by the fireplace.
With a wide variety of senior apartment styles, you’ll have no trouble finding something that will fit your needs and preferences. We encourage residents to personalize their accommodations with favorite furniture pieces or decor, to make you feel right at home and surrounded by cherished belongings.
At Cotswold you’ll have the opportunity to join in an exercise class to start your day, and can choose from many activities to fit your interests and lifestyle. Join an outing on the Catawba Queen, lunch and a tour of Lake Norman, to local shopping or theater productions. Then end your day by enjoying a wine and cheese social in the bistro.
Whether you want to explore your creative side by working on a craft project, take on a fitness challenge or learn a new skill, we strive to provide opportunities that make each day rewarding.
We pride ourselves on a brain-healthy life enrichment program to enhance your mind and memory, and “spa day” to help you relax and rejuvenate. All activities are created around the passions, hobbies and talents of each resident, and we work hard to plan numerous choices everyone will enjoy.
Mealtimes are an exceptional experience in our community. Our culinary program stands out among others, with professional chefs and staff that create a culinary masterpiece for each meal. From Culinary Arts Training for the chefs, to select seasonings and bakery options, our fine dining experience is unforgettable. Each meal offers rich, sensational flavors and provides quality nutrition to keep our residents feeling healthy and balanced. We also work with any dietary restrictions or preferences, and receive recommendations from a registered dietician for our selections.
Three restaurant-style meals are served each day in the group dining room and snacks are provided throughout the day. Our residents love lingering in our dining room to chat over a cup of coffee or enjoy a decadent dessert as a special treat.
To help alleviate any confusion or added stress, we keep mealtimes very routine for our memory care community. Residents all sit together at the same time and same table each day. We also provide easy-to-eat snacks between meals, helping to ensure these residents get the nutrition and calorie count they need.
Cotswold offers a weekly visiting therapy program with a geriatric physician, a psychiatrist and podiatrist. You’re able to conveniently use their services without having to leave your home. We are dedicated to maintaining professional relationships with visiting physician groups, home health agencies and hospice agencies, to support you and your loved one.
Brookdale’s family values set us apart from any other senior living community. We are selective when choosing staff to join our team and serve our residents, and only those with a caring heart and experience in working with seniors are accepted into our family.
We are proud of the longevity of qualified and nurturing caregivers, medical assistants and executive management, and our personalized approach encourages each person to continue to live as they please, while respecting individual preferences.
We offer peace of mind and a comfortable lifestyle so that even those in need of daily assistance or reminders can continue to stay healthy, happy and excited about this stage of life. We listen to what you want and need, and create a plan that serves you on your own terms.
We offer two levels of care:
Assisted Living provides personal assistance and support with daily activities and services needed, such as medication management, meals, bathing and dressing, as well as amenities for housekeeping and linen services, transportation and recreational activities. Our individualized care plans provide an ideal blend of convenience and support, with respect for personal preferences.
Our memory care program was created over 25 years ago and continually embraces current research in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, coupled with the experience of caring for thousands of people with dementia. Associates help residents create daily moments of success, offering opportunities for them to experience a sense of purpose and meaning. A gently daily structure is provided to help maintain and encourage current skills.
Memory Care at Brookdale offers programs and a secure environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. We believe that no matter where an individual is in their life, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and enjoy meaningful experiences every day.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, our program focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging and purpose while seeking to preserve a sense of self. Providing excellent dementia care is a complex task that requires ongoing guidance and teaching for our staff members. All of our highly trained associates receive initial and on-going training in proper techniques, approach and care for seniors with dementia.
An established set of protocols and techniques enables our team to intervene when challenging behaviors resulting from dementia arise. Our whole-community philosophy is the key that empowers staff members to identify any unmet needs and be a part of the solution.
