What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Here you’ll have peace of mind knowing we have keypad entires, monitored exits and trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency. Our Clare Bridge environments feature areas of the community that are set up for safe engagement in gardening, kitchen work, handyman help like a woodworking station, and other household and normal daily tasks. Life skills activities provide a sense of purpose, meaning and belonging as residents complete tasks related to everyday life.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
Surrounded by your favorite things and people who love you – that’s home. Our apartments have plenty of natural window light and some even have a garden view. And you and your family can choose either a private studio or a companion studio apartment. We help our families make our residents’ apartments familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring. And best of all, Brookdale Dublin is a pet-friendly community because we know it’s not really home without our four-legged family members with us.
Consistent Care Assignments
We don’t take our responsibility of caring for your loved one lightly here at Brookdale Dublin. That’s why we invest in quality training and education to help keep our team up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques. We assign the same care partners to your family member whenever possible to encourage familiarity and regularity. This gives your loved one the quality care they deserve and allows you to enjoy peace of mind knowing we strive to help keep them safe and sound in a community that loves them for the wonderful individual they are.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs per day, our routine that helps our residents maintain their abilities, encourages the use of their current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities, to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, brain games and physical fitness and movement classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We are committed to person-centered partnerships. In our care model, we build relationships with trust, loving concern and a sense of family. Knowing and being present with your loved one gives us a solid foundation to anticipate their needs at all stages of the disease and address behavioral expressions that may occur due to dementia symptoms. And to create a sense of stability and comfort that they are well-known where they live, our care associates focus on getting to know our residents’ histories, routines and preferences. Having an atmosphere that feels like home comes from relationship-rich care, consistent care partner assignments and dedication to loving our residents like they are family.
