At Brookdale Eddy Pond West, we partner with each resident to create a personalized plan for both our Assisted Living and Memory Care options. Each lifestyle can be tailored to a senior’s individual needs. Here’s a little about our two care options:
Like the Auburn community, our staff members take the time to get to know residents. All staff members undergo extensive training, including a comprehensive orientation program for new employees, state-mandated monthly in-services and ongoing training with through Brookdale. Skills, experience, and commitment to take care of our residents are the hallmarks of the Brookdale Eddy Pond West staff.
We offer two communities for our residents to stay at. Each one presents a unique living experience, but both of them offer a high quality lifestyle that you won’t be able to find at many other senior living communities. Discover a little bit about our two communities, The Lodge and the Woods.
The Lodge has 108 apartments ranging from studios, larger alcove studios, and one and two-bedroom apartments. All of our apartments are bright, light and extremely spacious. All apartments have a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, are equipped for cable, and offer wall-to-wall carpeting. Some have a balcony or patio, but almost all have excellent views of the beautiful grounds.
The Lodge offers a TV lounge on the first floor along with our main dining room and a private dining room available for family celebrations or special occasions. In addition, there’s a bright, spacious activities area on the second floor and a library, pool table and hair salon on the third floor. A lovely porch with rocking chairs and a patio extending the length of the front of the building, equipped with tables and chairs, give residents the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors during warmer months.
The Woods is our slightly smaller community with 79 studio, alcove and one-bedroom apartments. Although smaller, it still includes the same amenities as the Lodge. When visitors walk into the Woods, they are often struck by the dramatic entrance with its soaring, open lobby area that stretches up two-stories, along with its comfortable living space featuring a fireplace, piano and array of couches and chairs.
The two-story open dining room is equally impressive with its wall of windows overlooking Eddy Pond, as well as several beautiful china cabinets and a small stage. Just off the dining room is a private dining room similar to the Lodge. The Woods also features an activities room with sliding doors opening out to a balcony, as well as a library and lounge area on the second floor. And a covered porch with screens and rocking chairs creates a relaxing, shaded retreat.
Our memory care community is located on the first floor of both buildings. This community has recently undergone a major renovation and features a beautiful new kitchen area and activities room.
Our days at Brookdale Eddy Pond West typically start with an exercise program and end with a community movie. Between that time, our two Life Enrichment Directors, one for each building, plan all sorts of activities to appeal to a wide range of interests.
These include poker groups, bingo, card games, puzzles, arts and crafts, weekly shopping days, occasional outings to local restaurants, church services and wonderful entertainment from local Auburn groups. And for just about every holiday, we have community-wide parties to which our family members are always invited. We also hold a birthday party each month for all residents born that month.
Brookdale Eddy Pond West offers two levels of care options — Assisted Living and Memory Care. Each of these lifestyles can be tailored to fit your particular needs.
Our Assisted Living community can offer help if you need assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing and administering needed medication. Just like family, we provide a little extra support with certain tasks while helping you maintain the privacy, dignity and independence that means so much to you.
Our skilled and trained staff does more than just provide you with the right kind of assistance to live a healthy and safe lifestyle; we can offer care plans that are customized to fit your particular needs.
It all starts with a Personal Service Assessment. With each of our residents, we sit down and listen to their needs. We don’t try to force a care plan on you. Instead, we work with you to figure out the level of assistance you feel comfortable with. Our support is based on only what you need, so you don’t end up paying for a ton of extra services.
We strive to provide an individualized experience for each of our residents. It’s evident in the customized plans that we offer, but it’s also apparent in the atmosphere we provide for our seniors. We learn details about our residents — from their favorite snack and recipe to a lifelong passion — and use that to provide a truly individualized living experience.
When you or your loved one joins our Memory Care community, you’ll be given the strongest kind of support, security and life-enriching programs. We create an environment that allows you to feel safe while enjoying meaningful experiences every day.
We have a state-of-the-art approach to Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, which has been perfected throughout the years. This approach is based on the Clare Bridge concept that utilizes the latest research and innovations to deliver quality Memory Care to seniors. We focus on caring for the individual — working to encourage feelings of belonging, a sense of self, purpose and fulfillment.
After undergoing specific training, our staff gently assists residents with daily programs that are designed to maintain a resident’s abilities and encourage the use of their current skills. Programs may include a “Morning Mental Workout” where residents might enjoy brain-stimulating games or discussions, and a Person-Centered Program, which may honor a resident’s past interests and involvements.
We also offer the Clare Bridge Dining Program, which has been recognized as “Best of the Best” in the industry by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA). It is a unique program designed by a team of specialists to help those with Alzheimer’s and dementia master and enjoy successful dining experiences. It offers dementia-friendly menus, individualized dining assistance, a supportive environment and consistent seating arrangements.
Your care needs are extremely important, and you don’t want to trust them in the hands of just anyone. Give us a call and we’d love to tell you more about our unique approach to senior care.
