What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Using features like color coding, dementia-friendly menus, and predictable schedules, we help each of our residents thrive. Your loved one will feel right at home with our purpose-built community designed specifically for the needs of those living with the early stages of dementia, including Alzheimer’s. With monitored keypad entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep residents safe while allowing them to have a sense of freedom and independence to explore. We call this sheltered freedom, and it’s just one more way we help your loved one live their best life.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
With four different floor plans to choose from, our residents have options. And while our community is built for safety, we’ve never skimped on the luxury. From our gorgeous dining room with huge windows and lots of natural light to our beautiful indoor patio, the perfect place to enjoy some time with friends, our community feels just like home sweet home. Our apartments have plenty of natural window light, too, and we’ll help you make your loved one’s apartment familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring.
Consistent Care Assignments
We don’t just hire good people; we invest in quality training and education to help keep our staff up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques. They specialize in techniques like physical prompting and cueing to maintain independence, validation, and other communication techniques for better understanding and partnership. And our consistent care assignments help provide your loved one with the same care partners whenever possible to encourage familiarity and regularity. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
Our structured program of activities isn’t just about staying busy. Whether it’s engaging in creative pursuits or staying connected to hobbies or passions, days here are full of life-enriching, purposeful activities that can help preserve your loved one’s independence and slow the progression of the disease. Our Crossings program is designed for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia who often experience a loss of self-esteem as they become aware of their cognitive decline. This program is typically a stepping stone between assisted living and our memory care program.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We understand that techniques that work for one resident may not work for another. So instead, our care partners are trained to provide person-centered care. That means our care associates get to know your loved one’s history, routines, and preferences to encourage relationship-rich care. But it’s more than just a care approach. Our residents also benefit from our specialized environment and trained staff to support them throughout the progression of the disease.
