Our home-like community is a warm and welcoming environment designed to help seniors with challenges from dementia or Alzheimer’s feel comfortable, involved and able to enjoy their senior years with dignity.
Built around the Clare Bridge memory care program, our community features peaceful surroundings and a setting designed to re-create environments people have enjoyed throughout their lives. Interior spaces are decorated like those of a private home and enclosed walking areas give residents the opportunity to safely explore their surroundings.
Our private residences are offered in private apartments and companion suites. Companion suites are highly recommended for residents who have an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis as it creates an environment to easily develop new friends and companionship.
Familiarity in Daily Living
Not all memory care services are the same. If you have a loved one in need of Alzheimer’s or dementia care, we invite you to visit and experience the exceptional programs we offer at Brookdale Monroe Square. Caring Professional Relationships and Staff
We are dedicated to maintaining professional relationships with visiting physician groups, home health agencies and hospice agencies, as well as professional companion companies to support you and your loved one. These relationships allow residents to remain in their home here and often prevent the need to relocate.
Our community has tremendous pride in our staff and is fortunate to have longevity and tenure of its caregiving, nursing, dietary and housekeeping staff. Team members are committed to making a difference for the seniors we serve and take time to know each resident and their individual needs. At Brookdale Monroe Square, we are a family and the care we provide is truly exceptional.
An Exceptional Dining Experience
The Clare Bridge dining program, recognized as “Best of the Best” in the industry by the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), is a unique program designed by a team of specialists to help those with Alzheimer’s and dementia master and enjoy successful dining experiences. It offers dementia-friendly menus, individualized dining assistance, a supportive environment and consistent seating arrangements.
Three savory home-style meals and three delicious snacks are served daily in our dining area. Each meal offers a featured entrée and many alternate options are available to meet individual preferences. Delicious food, a friendly staff and great companionship make our dining experience unique.
Designed by a team of culinary associates, experts specializing in dementia care and registered dieticians, our dining program sustains each resident, giving an opportunity to enjoy and master the dining experience. The program offers such specialized aspects as:
Dementia-Friendly Menus providing diverse offerings that help prevent weight-loss. Selections are easy to manage, familiar and appealing to the senses.
Individualized Dining Assistance includes evaluating each resident to determine the level of prompting assistance needed to preserve their use of utensils.
To help alleviate any confusion or added stress, we keep mealtimes very routine for our memory care community. All residents sit together at the same time and same table each day. Place settings are designed to enhance and provide ease for each person and meals can quickly be converted to handheld for those that prefer walking or standing, rather than sitting. We also provide easy-to-eat snacks between meals, helping to ensure that proper nutrition and calories are offered each day.

Levels of Care
Memory care at Brookdale offers programs and a secure environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. We believe that no matter where an individual is in their life, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and enjoy meaningful experiences every day.
Highly-trained associates deliver on this promise as they provide dementia care services which enable residents to experience daily moments of success.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, our program focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging and purpose, while seeking to preserve a sense of self. The concept has evolved over a quarter of a century by continually embracing the latest research and innovations in the delivery of quality dementia care. Over the years we’ve cared for thousands of individuals with dementia, as well as for their families.
Providing excellent dementia care is a complex task that requires ongoing guidance and teaching for our staff members. All associates receive initial and on-going training in proper techniques, approach and care for seniors with dementia.
This established set of protocols and techniques enables associates to compassionately intervene when challenging behaviors resulting from dementia arise. The whole-community philosophy is the key that empowers all of our associates to identify any unmet needs and be a part of the solution.
Allow us to step in and help you care for your loved one with the compassionate, professional care we provide. We understand that being a friend or family member as well as a caretaker can seem overwhelming at times. At Brookdale, we enable families to focus on their relationships and enjoy their time together, without the worry or stress. Let us provide the care, guidance and assistance your loved one needs to live confidently, with dignity and optimum health.
