We understand that every senior has a unique journey. We work to get to know every resident in our communities to ensure they have the care they need to live a healthy, happy life.
Our campus includes the following accommodations for those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, providing specialized care from a staff that is continuously trained in handling the unique needs of seniors with memory-related issues. Residents with Alzheimer’s or related memory challenges reside in a supportive environment with familiar surroundings. By helping seniors achieve daily moments of achievement, residents find new meaning and purpose in their daily lives.
Brookdale Muskogee offers 36 senior apartments, including one-bedroom apartments, studio apartments and friendship suites on one level for easy access. The friendship suites offer solutions if your loved one is concerned about their budget or living alone.
We use a state-of-the-art computerized evaluation system called the Resident Evaluation Overview to help us accurately evaluate, predict and monitor assisted living services for each resident. In addition, our Resident Care Director will visit with you on a regular basis to personally discuss health-related issues and to monitor your progress.
Our community has been designed to assist those with memory loss and to provide easy access for those with limited mobility. It is easily navigated by individuals using wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
Relaxing or socializing in one of our many common areas is easy to do in our community, with areas including our lovely dining room, library, beautifully appointed lounges and activities rooms. Our library offers books in regular print, large print and on tape, as well as current magazines and the daily newspaper.
For those that want to enjoy the outside, the manicured grounds with walking paths and our enclosed, outdoor courtyard is the perfect place to enjoy a sunny day. Green thumbs can tend to their favorite plants in raised flower beds in our outdoor gardening areas. For added convenience we offer a full-service beauty/barber shop, and washers and dryers are available for personal use.
The Life Enrichment Program at Brookdale Muskogee was designed to add joy, purpose and meaning to the lives of our residents. Our approach to life enrichment means offering retirement activities and programs that reflect the talents, interests and personalities of the residents in each of our senior living communities while also offering new experiences that will challenge them and keep them mentally healthy.
We offer a wide range of activities each month including off-site excursions, exercise classes, parties and hobbies. We have a calendar that is full of activities to keep you interested. Once a month we have parties the whole family can attend. We have a community van we utilize for joy rides and scheduled doctor appointments.
Our seniors enjoy taking short drives to area lakes, and through Honor Heights Park, which in the spring is known for the blooming azaleas and dogwood trees, and in the winter for the garden of lights. We also visit The Five Civilized Tribe Museum, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Three Rivers Museum, all conveniently located to our community.
Our goal is to support your loved one in being purposeful and successful each day. We use the detailed Life Story to understand your loved ones hobbies, careers and interests and then turn these ideas into activities in which they can participate in every day.
Brookdale Muskogee offers three homemade meals each day in our dining room area. Meals are served in a restaurant-style atmosphere so that residents can enjoy conversation with the company at their table. Our chef works with a registered dietitian for nutritional support and recommendations to provide a meal consisting a hot breakfast with cook-to-order options, a main meal at lunchtime and a lighter meal at supper time. Our main dining room offers a beautiful setting and a friendly staff waiting to serve you. For those wanting a more intimate setting for celebrations with friends and family (pre-planned), our private dining room is available.
Each month we have “Spotlight Chef “, in which we include the residents in the history, process and preparation of the meal. We also have a dining resident council meeting each month where residents are encouraged to attend and input their ideas to enhance their dining experience.
