There is no doubt when you walk through our front doors, you will feel the energy and friendliness from our residents and staff. It is our ultimate goal to ensure that everyday we make a difference in the life of our residents. We offer a variety of apartment options and have a secure Memory Care Community. A large benefit is that we are one level with no elevators or stairs to be concerned with.
Escape to relaxation in our beautifully manicured courtyard where you can sit and listen to the birds singing, while enjoying various flowers in bloom. Pamper yourself at our beauty salon open five days a week, or watch a movie on our enormous flat screen television in the theater room.
Snuggle up on one of our comfy chairs and read a book from our library, and listen to the sounds of water, toss a penny in our gorgeous water fountain and have a fresh cup of coffee while reading the paper or surfing the internet in our café.
Our energetic Life Enrichment Director continually encourages and engages residents to participate in a very active calendar of events. Imagine yourself or your loved one being pampered every Tuesday with manicures, taking trips to downtown Woodstock, going out to lunch, playing card games, seeing live entertainment, participating in Senior Fitness or playing bingo for bucks. We even have a Red Hat Society for the ladies and our mens only club Romeo.
Daily, weekly and monthly calendar activities are planned around events suggested by our seniors. We like to invite our family members to visit, as this gives residents a sense of ownership of their home. Brookdale has a walking club called The Terrace Trekkers, a Gardening Club and there are monthly Resident Council Meetings to determine likes and dislikes, and what should be added on next months calendar.
Substantial investments in our culinary program and staffing, allow us to provide mealtime experiences that set our communities apart from the competition. From Culinary Arts Training for chefs, to select seasonings and bakery options, Brookdale has created one of the industry’s leading dining services. Our fine dining experience is prepared by a trained chef and receives nutritional support and recommendations from a registered dietician.
Three restaurant-style meals are served each day in the group dining room and snacks are provided throughout the day. We continue to meet the nutritional needs of residents with dining choices that promote their health and well-being. Each meal offers a selection of delicious choices, sensational service and we always accommodate special restrictions and requests.
To help alleviate any confusion or added stress, we keep mealtimes very routine for our Memory Care community. Residents all sit together at the same time and same table each day. Meals are served on colorful plates and tablecloths so they can more easily distinguish their food. We also provide easy-to-eat snacks between meals, helping to ensure these residents get the nutrition and calorie count they need.
As the population ages, more people are discovering senior Personal Care Home and the peace of mind we offer. Our community’s approach focuses on being a trusted partner and listening to your needs, understanding the life you want for yourself or a loved one and customizing a solution that puts that life within reach.
Brookdale Neese Rd Woodstock offers two levels of care:
Memory Care at Brookdale offers programs and a secure environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. We believe that no matter where an individual is in their life, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and enjoy meaningful experiences every day.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, our program focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging and purpose while seeking to preserve a sense of self. Providing excellent dementia care is a complex task that requires ongoing guidance and teaching for our staff members. All of our highly trained associates receive initial and on-going training in proper techniques, approach and care for seniors with dementia.
An established set of protocols and techniques enables our team to intervene when challenging behaviors resulting from dementia arise. Our whole-community philosophy is the key that empowers our staff to identify any unmet needs and be a part of the solution.
Brookdale has valuable relationships with outside agencies that may service our residents at some point in time. We have worked with the same home health company for many years and are more than happy to recommend them. We also have various affiliations with medical professionals that can be recommended if you are coming from out of state and need a specific physician or specialty.
Our family values set us apart from any other senior living community. We are selective when choosing staff to join our team and serve our residents, and only those with a caring heart and experience in working with seniors are accepted into our family. We are proud of the longevity of qualified and nurturing caregivers, medical assistants and executive management, and our personalized approach encourages each person to continue to live as they please, while respecting individual preferences.
Annual events such as the City of Woodstock Christmas parade, City of Woodstock Concerts in the Park, events hosted by our local Senior Center and visits from Girl and Boy Scout troops are enjoyed by everyone. Each year Kennestone State University college students come for a period of six weeks to lead our community exercise program and do their clinicals concerning physical fitness for seniors, which has been an ongoing project with them for years.
We host a monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group on the last Thursday of the month for anyone in the surrounding community who may be caring for a family member with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Brookdale participates in the annual Memory Walk fundraiser and has raised a substantial amount in funding research to find a cure.
