What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Because Brookdale North Glendale specializes in memory care, our purpose-built community incorporates unique features such as extensive circular paths designed to lead residents to areas of activity, way-finding cues and spaces decorated like home. With keypad entries, monitored exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep our residents safe while encouraging a sense of freedom and independence to explore. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
We want your family member to feel right at home no matter which floor plan they choose for their new living space. Designed to feel and function like a home, all of our private residences are equipped with a kitchen, private bathroom, individually-controlled heating and cooling controls, and a 24-hour emergency response system. And we’ll help you make your loved one’s apartment familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring.
Consistent Care Assignments
Our loving family of residents and care team members will support your family member with warmth and kindness as they transition to life at Brookdale North Glendale. We assign the same associates to your loved one whenever possible to encourage familiarity and regularity. Our attentive staff handles chores such as laundry and housekeeping while providing support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. This established routine helps your loved one maintain his or her abilities, encourages the use of current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include music and art programs, brain games and fitness classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Surrounded by a team that gently guides them through the day, we’ll help your family member experience a full and rich life at Brookdale North Glendale. Our team spends time getting to know your loved one's past, their likes and dislikes, and encourage them to share stories and reminisce on their favorite memories to inspire joy and happiness. With custom programs built for early, middle and late stages of Alzheimer's and other dementia, and that foster meaningful interactions, you can rest assured that your loved one will not only be in good hands but will engage in deep and genuine relationships with fellow residents and care team members.
