Our grounds are graced by a variety of mature rhododendrons, lovely roses, and other flowering shrubs. The garden off our dining room patio offers a serene setting to enjoy a quiet moment. Barbeques and opportunities to dine al fresco are frequent. Root beer floats are served on the green as residents play a friendly game of croquet or horseshoes.
Weekly outings are scheduled to allow residents to delight in nearby sights such as the Ballard Locks, the Edmonds Ferry terminal to view the action on the Puget Sound, a picnic at Matthews beach, or a fun drive around Lake Washington. The Burke Museum, the Arboretum and Japanese Gardens, or the occasional “mystery” scenic drive are scheduled field trips throughout the year.
Visitors often remark on the surprising spaciousness of our alcove studio and one-bedroom apartments. In addition to a full kitchen with a standard refrigerator, there are also several large closets for storage, linens, clothing, and other items. These apartments all come with a patio or balcony bringing in extra light. Provided for resident safety is an emergency call system and a daily resident check-in protocol so we know all are present and accounted for. Weekly shopping excursions to area grocers, drug stores, department stores, and the Northgate Mall are provided on our community bus. We also transport residents to local medical appointments twice weekly.
We feel that our team is very special here at Brookdale Northgate. They will tell you that it is because they are enriched by making a difference in the life of an elder. They are trained, dedicated professionals first, but they are also caring individuals who respect and honor the residents they serve.
Years of developing and maintaining relationships with professionals in our neighborhood has resulted in an ongoing dialog on how we can work together to be of service to seniors in our community. From the discharge planners and social workers at local hospitals and skilled nursing centers to program directors at area senior centers, we partner together to make sure that our residents have all the resources they need to live full and productive lives. We also work with others in our field to promote charitable and health-related projects.
Since we provide three levels of care — Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care — Brookdale Deer Park has the resources in place to adapt to your changing needs. With each level of care, our staff is there for you, in whatever way you need. Our aim is to keep you healthy, safe and enjoying as much independence as possible.
