With private apartments and areas for socializing, dining and entertaining, we offer many opportunities to engage individual interests, passion and purpose. Residents can enjoy a fulfilled life with the added support and care that our loving staff delivers.
Located one mile from historic Prescott, our small mountain town is at the same altitude as Denver. The air is wonderful, the High Desert light is spectacular and the weather is mild, with just a small amount of snow in the wintertime.
We are tucked into the foothills offering a mile-high view of the surrounding mountains and Prescott Valley. Our Y-shape building overlooks an inner grassy area where deer and other wildlife wander through, and there is a pathway that goes around the property where residents enjoy walking their dogs.
Brookdale has a total of 103 senior apartments on four floors, and all apartments have either a balcony or patio that is large enough to accommodate furniture. Because we are built into the surrounding hillside, our main entrance is on the third floor.
Our lobby area, with its couches and fireplace, feels much like an upscale resort hotel, and common areas are designed with vaulted ceilings and windows that ring the top of the rooms to bring in an abundance of natural light.
Integral to life at Brookdale are the programs, outings and opportunities for our residents to engage physically and socially. Our philosophy incorporates individual interests, as well as opportunities that allow each resident to make meaningful contributions to the community and their neighbors on a daily basis.
Residents never give up an opportunity to attend a community event, art show, dance performance or good old-fashioned Western Shootout in “The Square,” as it’s called here in Prescott. They also love visiting our local museums, including the Phippen Museum of Art, a nationally known museum featuring art from the American West. We attend concerts at the Yavapai Community College, visit the Prescott Gateway Mall, and residents always enjoy a trip to one of two Wal-Marts in the area.
With our community located in the High Desert, we occasionally take residents on scenic drives through rolling hills and forests of Ponderosa Pine and on train rides through the Verde Canyon during fall foliage season. Whether it’s attending a hockey game, taking a trip to the Prescott Zoo, going dancing, touring Prescott’s historical district of Victorian homes, visiting our local casino or dining out at any one of several popular destinations nearby, our residents are always game for an adventure.
Optimum Life is a bold initiative that defines the way we live. By balancing six key dimensions of wellness with purpose, emotional, physical, social, spiritual and intellectual fulfillment, Optimum Life helps you live at your peak level within a lifestyle that promotes health and wholeness. Intended as a journey of self- examination and discovery, it includes services, features and benefits that allow each resident to reach these goals, regardless of real or perceived limitations.
Brookdale’s substantial investments in a Culinary Arts Training Program and staffing allow us to provide mealtime experiences that set our communities apart from the competition. From our community chefs, to select seasonings and bakery options, we have created one of the industry’s leading dining services. We continue to satisfy the preferences and nutritional needs of residents with dining choices that offer delicious meals, while meeting dietary requirements.
A selection of home-cooked entrees are served restaurant-style, three times a day in our warm and friendly dining room. A knowledgeable and trained staff makes certain that meals are nutritionally balanced and supportive of the health and well-being of our residents. We can always accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions, and snacks and beverages are available throughout the day.
There are several hospitals in the area. Brookdale is between Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s two campuses, the VA Medical Center is just four miles away and Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is ten miles from our retirement community. We nurture strong relationships within these affiliations to provide a seamless continuum of support for our residents.
Prescott prides itself on having a very stable and loving staff. We are happy to be working with older adults and feel connected to our residents and each other. Our compassionate mix of caregivers, resident assistants, med techs and licensed nurses handle all of our community’s needs.
At Brookdale, we provide care that balances independence with assistance and delivers service with compassion, understanding and respect. With comfortable, elegant accommodations and an impressive line of features and amenities, our residents enjoy life with the confidence of knowing we are here, partnering with you and your family, to provide solutions that support your needs.

There might come a time when you or your loved one needs additional help with daily tasks. Assisted Living offers personal care and balances independence, so residents can enjoy life with confidence. For those who need some help in their daily lives but do not require the medical care provided by a hospital, we are the perfect solution.
Our community is a long-term senior care option providing personal care and support from trusted and loving caregivers, for services with medication management, daily living activities and amenities such as housekeeping, linen services, transportation and recreations. Customized care offers an ideal blend of convenience and support with respect for individual lifestyles.
A personalized assessment evaluates your individual needs and preferences, and then we customize a service plan to meet those needs with respect for personal care. We listen to our residents so that we understand how to establish clinical, dining and program support that works for them in a meaningful way.
Your plan is based upon the amount of time it takes to provide quality services, and we recognize and can adjust services easily. Whether it’s a unique snack, the celebration of a favorite season or a lifelong interest, we value the privilege of knowing our residents and building relationships with them to create a truly personalized living experience.
Customized service plans are reviewed regularly by caregivers to ensure we meet the changing needs of residents. Our trained staff is there to assist with personal needs like bathing or showering, selection of clothing, dressing assistance, grooming, hygiene, mobility and dining assistance, 24-hours a day.
