Quality care is a major aspect of the community at Brookdale Shreveport, and our staff goes the extra mile to give you the right amount of support. Our community offers two categories of care: Adult Residential Care and Memory Care (or Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care).
Our approach to Adult Residential Care is to provide the daily assistance you need, perhaps with performing tasks such as bathing or administering medicine, while also respecting your independence. For Memory Care, we offer a state-of-the-art program, designed by experts in the field, that provides optimum opportunities for loved ones to maintain their mental functions.
Our quaint single-story building has a cozy, intimate feel with an easy-to-navigate floor plan. Our community boasts many finely decorated common areas. A game room, activities room, dining room and beauty shop are just a few of the places where you could spend your time. There are three fireplaces in our building, including one in the living room.
For the Adult Residential Care community, we have 52 studio senior apartments in three sizes – small, medium and large deluxe. The interior apartments include a private patio that opens onto an enclosed courtyard. All units include a kitchenette, a very spacious bathroom with large walk-in, lighted handicapped-accessible showers, wall-to-wall carpeting, and many other amenities.
Our Memory Care neighborhood, attached to the Adult Residential Care community, offers 28 studio apartments that were designed to promote the safety of our residents. The community has a ‘50’s style sock hop café, with a coke machine, booths and black and white checker floor to look just like the classic malt shops.
With so much available in the immediate area, we’re able to take our residents on many outings. We visit local malls and shopping areas, including Target. The Meadows Museum is a very popular destination, along with the Robinson Film Center, which shows classic black and white movies. When the azaleas are in full bloom, we always visit R.W. Norton Art Gallery, where residents enjoy a stroll around the walking trails and admire the incredible collection of Remington statues.
We provide three delicious meals a day, with two entrees to chose from, as well as an always-available menu that includes a chef salad, sandwiches and soups. Our dining room offers a lovely environment for sharing meals, with a two-way fireplace and views onto our two courtyards. Residents can also reserve our “Green Room,” a private dining room decorated in a tropical theme and comfortable wicker furniture.
Our community at Brookdale Shreveport offers two different kinds of care: Adult Residential Care and Memory Care. We approach each type of care with professionalism, compassion and years of experience.
You are an individual, and we believe your care plan should reflect that. Adult Residential Care shouldn’t come in a one-size-fits-all package. Our focus at Brookdale Shreveport is to give you a personalized care plan that reflects your specific needs.
Our community can support residents with daily living activities, such as housekeeping services, transportation and recreational activities. Trained caregivers provide services such as help with medication, bathing and dressing and coordinating services with outside providers.
We customize our staff support, so you can live your life the way you want with the right care at the right time, delivered by the right people. We first start with a personal service assessment. During which we take the time to understand your needs and then establish clinical, dining and program support based on that information. We view our residents as partners, and we look forward to developing relationships with them to create a warm and friendly community experience.
For many years, our community has been delivering successful, safe and secure care to our residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. Utilizing the expertly designed Clare Bridge program, we’ve been successful at having a person-centered approach to Memory Care.
We believe no matter where an individual is in life’s journey, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and to enjoy meaningful experiences every day. To encourage and enable residents to experience daily moments of success, we have a few programs that have gotten highly positive feedback from our residents and their loved ones.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path offers a gentle daily structure that provides a minimum of six programs per day. Programs can range from a Morning Mental Workout, where residents can engage in discussions and brain-stimulating games, to a Daily Physical Activity like walking or dancing. All are designed to maintain the resident’s abilities and to encourage the use of their current skills.
The unique Clare Bridge Dining program sustains the resident’s opportunity to enjoy and master the dining experience. Dementia-friendly menus are developed that help prevent weight-loss and include foods that are familiar to residents and easy to manage. Our staff evaluates each resident individually to determine the level of support needed during the dining experience and encourage the use of utensils as long as possible. These are just some of the features of the dining program.
We aim to always treat our residents with compassion, understanding and respect. But don’t take our word for it! We’d love for you to come visit our community and see what we can provide you. Give us a call today.
