An ideal location for retirement, our community is convenient to Sikes Center Mall, numerous restaurant and shopping options. We are also minutes from United Regional Health Care System and a skilled nursing facility. And with its rolling ranches and pastures, the countryside beyond Wichita Falls gives us ample opportunities to take residents on relaxing country rides.
We understand that every senior has a unique journey. We work to get to know every resident in both our assisted living and memory care communities to ensure they have the care they need to live a healthy, happy life.
Our campus includes the following accommodations and levels of care:
Our two-story senior living community offers a total of 77 apartments, including studios, alcoves and one-bedrooms. All of our apartments include a small kitchen area with sink, refrigerator and cabinets; private wheelchair-accessible bathroom with a shower; as well as housekeeping, laundry service and cable television. Some apartments have views of Sikes Lake, where our residents often enjoy strolling along its one-mile walking path. Pets are also welcome.
In our assisted living community residents enjoy relaxing by the fire with a book in the library with fireplace, or visiting with friends and family on our mezzanine sitting area. The lower level lobby has another sitting area, a fireplace and a fish tank – one of three in our community.
A private dining room for birthday parties, special events and family gatherings is available for our residents’ personal use. In addition, our main dining room features floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the lake and to a patio area with tables, chairs and umbrellas. We also have our own in-house beauty salon open three to four days a week.
Residents in our memory care community can live in their own private apartments, which they can decorate anyway they wish. We also provide shared apartments, either a 450-square-foot alcove or 525-square-foot one bedroom. The neighborhood also has its own dining room, sitting area with a large-screen television, life stations throughout and a large outdoor area.
Brookdale’s unique Optimum Life approach to resident activities balances six key dimensions of wellness — purposeful, emotional, physical, social, spiritual and intellectual. Intended as a journey of self-examination and discovery, it includes services, features and benefits that allow each resident to reach these goals, regardless of real or perceived limitations.
We take tremendous pride in the longevity and tenure of key management staff and care givers, all working collaboratively to provide the highest standard of care and services. Our associates strive to create meaningful connections with residents, while providing exceptional service and care. For our associates, this opportunity to serve others is more than a job — it’s a passion.
Each member of our staff is always willing to go above and beyond for residents, and offer complete assisted living services, tailor-made to your needs. Our services focus on wellness to help you maintain your health, so you can live as independently as possible. We are committed to providing a rewarding experience through our community that is purposefully designed and operated to provide an outstanding experience for our residents.
We partner closely with the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and sponsor a monthly community support group, with topics ranging from how to handle difficult behaviors to what to expect next in the disease process. In addition, our staff and many of our family members participate in the association’s annual Memory Care Walk, which is held at Sike’s Lake and raises money for Alzheimer’s research.
As necessary, we can bring in outside physical, occupational and speech therapists to provide services in the comfort of the resident’s home. In addition, we work with several home health and hospice agencies, which come into our community to care for residents who need services that go beyond what we can provide. These agencies also occasionally host blood pressure and flu shot clinics here at our community.
