What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
Your loved one will feel right at home with our private apartments with plenty of natural window light and storage. We’ll help you make your family member’s apartment familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring. And on the wall outside of each apartment is a shadow box that creates a small “biography” for each resident and serves as a tool for our care team to get to know each resident.
A Secure Setting
Designed with the specific needs of those living with dementia in mind, we strive to secure our community to help residents experience a “sheltered freedom,” with secure outdoor walking spaces, courtyards and gardens. Using industry-leading techniques like color-coding, wayfinding cues, and personalized apartment entryways to encourage recognition, our goal is to gently guide each of our residents through days lived well. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
Quality Services from Trained Staff
Your loved one deserves to experience a full life in a place where they are well taken care of. We provide services to do just that, like routine wellness monitoring and assistance coordinating care with outside healthcare providers. In addition, our staff handles chores such as laundry and housekeeping while providing support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more. And we don’t just hire good people; we invest in quality training and education to help keep our staff up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques.
Our Clare Bridge Daily Path approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care provides our residents with a sense of purpose, meaning and belonging. Through a gentle structure of six programs per day, activities are tailored to maintain our residents' abilities and encourage the use of their current skills, even with advanced expressions of the disease. These include morning workouts with brain games and discussions, arts and crafts classes, music programs, devotional services and fitness activities such as dancing, walking, and our B-Fit program fitness program.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We are committed to building person-centered partnerships with relationships based on trust, loving concern and a sense of family. For example, Brookdale Troutdale care associates are familiar with our residents’ histories, routines, and preferences to better support each resident’s unique needs. This helps build bonds and provides residents with a sense of stability and comfort that they are well-known where they live.
