What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
A place that is familiar and comforting—that’s home. Our easy-to-navigate floor plans and extra details, such as soothing wall colors, provide all the comforts of home, so residents feel safe and not overwhelmed. Our pet-friendly apartments have plenty of natural window light, and some even have a garden view. We can also help families with suggestions of what to bring and what to expect on moving day.
A Secure Setting
Our purpose-built community incorporates unique features such as extensive circular paths designed to lead residents to areas of activity, way-finding cues and spaces decorated like home. With monitored entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep our residents safe, so they have a sense of independence with the freedom to explore. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
Quality Services from Trained Staff
Our exclusive Personalized Service System allows us to provide customized plans for your family member, and you only pay for the services your loved one needs. In addition, our attentive staff handles chores such as laundry and housekeeping while providing support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more. We also invest in quality training and education to help keep our staff up-to-date on the latest dementia care techniques.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. This established routine helps your loved one maintain his or her abilities, encourages the use of current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with similar abilities to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include brain games, music programs, fitness classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
At Brookdale Vancouver Stonebridge, we are committed to person-centered partnerships. In our care model, we build relationships with trust, loving concern and a sense of family. Knowing and being present in relationships with your loved one gives us a solid foundation to anticipate unmet needs and address behavioral expressions that may occur due to dementia symptoms. To better support our residents, care associates are familiar with our residents’ histories, routines and preferences. This helps to provide our residents with a sense of stability and comfort that they are well-known where they live.
