What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a safe place, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Because Brookdale White Rock specializes in memory care, our community has been designed with our residents in mind. With monitored keypad entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep your loved one safe while encouraging independence and providing purpose. Our apartments, common areas, dining area and outdoor spaces are all built dementia-friendly with safety and ease in mind. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
A place that is familiar and comforting—that’s home. Our apartments have plenty of natural window light, a private bathroom, ample storage, and some even have a garden view. And we’ll help you make your loved one’s new home familiar and comfortable with suggestions for what to bring on move-in day. Plus, our purpose-built community incorporates special features, such as easy-to-navigate floor plans, soothing wall colors, and way-finding cues, so residents feel safe and secure.
Consistent Care Assignments
Your loved one deserves to experience a full life in a place where they are well known. That’s why we strive to provide consistent care assignments so that your loved one is cared for by the same Brookdale associates whenever possible. This helps build out a relationship-rich partnership between a resident and their care provider, which in turn promotes familiarity and regularity. Our attentive staff provides support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. This established routine helps your loved one maintain his or her abilities, encourages the use of current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Working in small cluster groups, each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities to give them a feeling of fitting in. Activities include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, brain games and physical fitness and movement classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Our memory care program helps meet the unique needs of early, middle and late stages of Alzheimer's and other dementia, allowing care partners to create feelings of belonging and purpose for your loved one while seeking to preserve their identity and sense of self. More simply, we meet them where they are throughout the progression of the disease. We are committed to building partnerships and relationships with trust, loving concern, understanding and a sense of family.
