Our Community

We are a pioneer in the development of Memory Care and our property was specifically designed to assist those residents with memory loss issues. Our small community has 30 residences offering a variety of different accommodations with floor plans varying from private apartments to friendship suites.

Friendship suites are highly recommended for residents who have an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis, and this option is perfect for providing an environment to develop new friends and companionship.

A beautiful courtyard provides space to enjoy the outdoors, animals and gardening. Life at Brookdale White Rock is designed to reduce confusion, provide safety and allow complete freedom of movement in an effort to provide better and brighter days for each resident and their family members.

Caring Professional Relationships and Staff

We are dedicated to maintaining professional relationships with visiting physician groups, home health agencies and hospice agencies, as well as professional companion companies to support you and your loved one. These relationships allow residents to remain in their home here and often prevent the need to relocate to a nursing home.

Our community has tremendous pride and is fortunate to have longevity and tenure of its nursing, dietary and housekeeping staff. Team members are committed to making a difference for the seniors we serve and take time to know each resident and their individual needs. At Brookdale White Rock, we are a family and the care we provide is truly exceptional.

A Wonderfully Active Lifestyle

It is our goal to honor each person and their life stories by offering life enriching activities that compliment their past traditions, hobbies and interests. Daily activities vary greatly, however, we are committed to fulfilling your loved ones spiritual, cultural, mental, physical and creative desires. We focus on providing engaging activities to meet the changing needs of our residents.

Our community believes in promoting an active lifestyle with a wide variety of activities seven days a week, ensuring that your loved one is not only healthy, but having fun. We believe in getting out into the greater community and are known to frequent local eateries and shops as well as community events.

Levels of Care

Brookdale’s Clare Bridge Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care program provides services and a secure environment for those with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. We believe that no matter where an individual is in their journey, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and enjoy meaningful experiences every day. Highly-trained associates deliver on this promise as they provide dementia care services and enable residents to experience daily moments of success.

Memory Care

Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, the Clare Bridge program focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging and purpose while seeking to preserve a sense of self. The concept has evolved over a quarter of a century by continually embracing the latest research and innovations in the delivery of quality dementia care. The Brookdale communities have cared for thousands of individuals with dementia, as well as for their families.

Providing excellent dementia care is a complex task that requires ongoing guidance and teaching for our staff members. All associates receive initial and on-going training in proper techniques, approach and care of seniors with dementia.

This established set of protocols and techniques enables associates to intervene when challenging behaviors resulting from dementia arise. The whole-community philosophy is the key that empowers all associates to identify any unmet needs and be a part of a solution.

Three savory home-style meals and three delicious snacks are served daily in our dining area. Each meal offers a featured entrée, and many alternate options are available to meet individual preferences. Delicious food, a friendly staff and great companionship make our dining experience unique.

Designed by a team of culinary associates, experts specializing in dementia care and registered dieticians, our dining program sustains each resident, giving an opportunity to enjoy and master the dining experience. The program offers such specialized aspects as:

  • Dementia-Friendly Menus providing diverse offerings that help prevent weight-loss. Selections are easy to manage, familiar and appealing to the senses.
  • Individualized Dining Assistance includes evaluating each resident to determine the level of prompting assistance needed to preserve their use of utensils.

To help alleviate any confusion or added stress, we keep mealtimes very routine for our Memory Care community. All residents sit together at the same time and same table each day. Place settings are designed to enhance and provide ease for each person and meals can quickly be converted to hand-held for those that prefer walking or standing, rather than sitting.

We also provide easy-to-eat snacks between meals, helping to ensure that proper nutrition and calories are offered each day.

Brookdale White Rock is committed to offering resource information to the community at large. The mission is to extend our knowledge and offer support to families that are in need of additional resources.Educational seminars may include more information on various financial solutions for seniors. We also host a monthly support group for caregivers of a loved one with dementia.

Our community is an active member of the Alzheimer’s Association, participating in various functions such as the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and regularly scheduled support groups. As a company, Brookdale is committed to providing resources and assistance in serving those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
