What Our Memory Care Community Can Offer You
Just because someone you love is experiencing memory loss, it doesn't mean that they should have to sacrifice their quality of life. Our residents spend their days in a secure environment, surrounded by familiar people who encourage them to enjoy life, experience feelings of belonging and purpose, and help to maintain their current skills through our daily path of engagement.
Here are just a few of the ways we help the seniors in our memory care programs make the most of this season of their lives:
A Secure Setting
Because Brookdale Williamsville specializes in memory care, our purpose-built community incorporates unique features such as large circular paths designed to lead residents to areas of activity, way-finding cues and spaces decorated like home. With secured entries and exits and an enclosed courtyard and garden, we strive to help keep our residents secure while encouraging a sense of freedom and independence to explore. You’ll also have peace of mind knowing there is trained staff on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to be alerted to an emergency.
A Warm and Welcoming Atmosphere
A place that is familiar and comforting—that’s home. Our apartments have plenty of natural window light, and some even have a garden view. You and your family can choose from several floor plan options, including a private studio suite or a companion studio apartment, and each apartment has a private bathroom. We help families make our residents’ apartments familiar and comfortable with a move-in guide and a suggested list of what to bring.
Consistent Care Assignments
Our exclusive Personalized Service System allows us to provide customized plans for your family member, meaning you only pay for the services your loved one needs. And our consistent care assignments help provide your family member with the same care partners whenever possible to encourage familiarity and regularity. Your loved one will receive customized support throughout the day, whether during meals, taking medication, bathing or more.
The Clare Bridge Daily Path is an evidence-based approach that offers a gentle daily structure of six planned programs. This established routine helps your loved one maintain his or her abilities, encourages the use of current skills and offers a sense of security and accomplishment. Residents are provided engagement that offers stimulation and challenge, but remains failure-free. Activities include a morning cognitive workout with discussions, brain games and physical fitness and movement classes like our B-Fit program, walking programs, and dancing.
Personalized Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
We are committed to building person-centered partnerships. In our care model, we build relationships with trust, loving concern and a sense of family. Knowing and being present in relationships with your loved one gives us a solid foundation to anticipate unmet needs and address behavioral expressions that may occur due to dementia symptoms. To support a person-centered relationship, care associates are familiar with residents’ histories, routines and preferences. This helps to provide our residents with a sense of stability and comfort that they are well-known where they live throughout the progression of the disease.
