Quality care is a major aspect of Brookdale Woodbridge, and our staff goes the extra mile to give you the right amount of support. Our community offers two categories of care: Assisted Living and Memory Care (or Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care).
Our approach to Assisted Living is to provide the daily assistance you need, perhaps with performing tasks such as bathing or administering medicine, while also respecting your independence. For Memory Care, we offer a state-of-the-art program, designed by experts in the field, that provides optimum opportunities for loved ones to maintain their mental functions.
Our staff is the key ingredient to our quality of care. We select individuals who are compassionate and committed to our residents, and who have the skill and experience to deliver care properly. We have ongoing dementia care training so that our Memory Care staff can stay abreast of the latest techniques and research.
Life at Brookdale Woodbridge
As soon as you walk onto our grounds, you can see why seniors love living here. We have a large porch running along the front of our community where residents can relax in rocking chairs and enjoy the lovely view of West Rock.
The majority of our common areas, such as a dining room, living room and library, are located on the first floor. Our game room, with a professional poker table and television, is located on our second floor and our movie theater lounge is on the third floor.
Our community has 114 assisted living senior apartments. Located on the first floor, our memory care neighborhood has 24 rooms and features a private, secured garden with separate dining and activity areas as well.
The majority of our assisted living residents live in lovely studio apartments. Our studios are spacious and bright and have beautiful views of woodlands, courtyards or West Rock.
We also offer a limited amount of one-bedroom apartments. All of our units have individual climate controls, large walk-in closets, storage/linen closets, kitchenettes and spacious bathrooms with many safety features for peace of mind.
A Wonderful, Active Lifestyle
Our residents enjoy a variety of entertainment options including weekly music concerts, guest speakers, cultural events, an educational series and more. Our daily calendar is filled with a variety of social activities including bingo, arts and crafts, exercise classes, social hour, afternoon games, movies, and more.
Throughout the year, we take advantage of all that our beautiful state of Connecticut has to offer. We take many day trips and scenic drives to country farms for homemade ice cream, vineyards for wine tasting, local orchards for fruit picking, country roads for fall leaf peeping and the beaches for seafood lunches.
We also offer weekly shopping trips and trips to the movies and local restaurants. For those with a “green thumb”, we offer raised garden beds in our courtyard where our residents plant and grow flowers, herbs and vegetables. We host monthly theme dinners, casino nights, holiday parties and dances.

Our community at Brookdale Woodbridge offers two different kinds of care — Assisted Living and Memory Care. We approach each type of care with professionalism, compassion and years of experience.
You are an individual, and we believe your care plan should reflect that. Assisted Living Care shouldn’t come in a one-size-fits-all package. Our focus at Brookdale Woodbridge is to give you a personalized care plan that reflects your specific needs.
Our community can support residents with daily living activities, such as housekeeping services, transportation and recreational activities. Trained caregivers provide services such as help with medication, bathing and dressing and coordinating services with outside providers.
We customize our staff support, so you can live your life the way you want with the right care at the right time, delivered by the right people. We first start with a personal service assessment. During which we take the time to understand your needs and then establish clinical, dining and program support based on that information.
We view our residents as partners, and we look forward to developing relationships with them to create a warm and friendly community experience.
For many years, our community has been delivering successful, safe and secure care to our residents living with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. Utilizing the expertly designed Clare Bridge program, we’ve been successful at having a person-centered approach to Memory Care.
We believe no matter where an individual is in life’s journey, each has the right to live in a dignified manner and to enjoy meaningful experiences every day. To encourage and enable residents to experience daily moments of success, we have a few programs that have gotten highly positive feedback from our residents and their loved ones.
Brookdale's Clare Bridge Daily Path offers a gentle daily structure that provides a minimum of six programs per day. Programs can range from a Morning Mental Workout, where residents can engage in discussions and brain-stimulating games, to a Daily Physical Activity like walking or dancing. All are designed to maintain the resident’s abilities and to encourage the use of their current skills.
Our unique Clare Bridge Dining program sustains the resident’s opportunity to enjoy and master the dining experience. Dementia-friendly menus are developed that help prevent weight-loss and include foods that are familiar to residents and easy to manage.
Our staff evaluates each resident individually to determine the level of support needed during the dining experience and encourage the use of utensils as long as possible. These are just some of the features of the dining program.
