Freedom Village at Brandywine has deep historical roots, most notably as the birthplace of our country’s revolution and as one of the original counties created by William Penn in 1682. If you’re a history lover, you can explore the Brandywine River Museum and Valley Forge National Park, or drive along the Brandywine River.

You can sip your way down the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail or see a show at The People’s Light and Theatre in Malvern. And for nature lovers, don’t forget to explore the local parks and trails. With Philadelphia just down the road and New York City a short train ride away, there are endless opportunities for you to explore the city, go sight-seeing and take educational tours.

On campus, you can take your pup for a walk, or practice your swing on the putting green. If you want to focus on personal wellness, head over to our fitness center, or go for a swim in our indoor pool. We have a wellness center on campus, too, and a bistro cafe for light snacks.

If you want to explore your creative side, no problem. Spend time in our arts and crafts studio and make your next masterpiece. Are you passionate about gardening? Check out our outdoor courtyards and gardens. Or maybe you to play billiards before heading out for double-feature at our on-campus theater. It’s your choice. This is maintenance-free living at its best.

Care to Meet Your Changing Needs

If you choose to make the move to Freedom Village at Brandywine, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), you’ll have at four levels of care with independent living, personal care home, memory care, plus rehabilitation and skilled nursing all on one campus.

With our continuum of care options, you’ll be prepared with the care you might need down the road. If you need skilled nursing care while recovering from surgery, no problem. Need an extra hand with daily activities like bathing or dressing? We’ve got that, too.

That means you won’t have to change communities again, even if you or your spouse need more care later. You’ll be able to stay together, on the same campus close to friends, enjoying the same lifestyle in the community you already love.

Our Alzheimer's and dementia care community, also known as Clare Bridge, is rooted in “a person-centered approach”. That means we help our residents find a sense of belonging and purpose while also helping them preserve who they are. We also have our Clare Bridge Crossings program which is designed for individuals in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia. While not appropriate for all persons with dementia, this program is often a stepping stone between assisted living and our Clare Bridge program.

Rental CCRC or Life Care—You Choose

Did you know Freedom Village at Brandywine offers both rental and Life Care options?

In the rental program, you pay a monthly rental fee based on the level of care and services you need— with no buy-in fee. That means you or a loved one move into whatever level of care you need—for instance, personal care home or skilled nursing.

For the Life Care program, you’ve got two costs to consider, and even more financial gains.  Let’s start with the upfront buy-in fee. The amount of the fee depends on your floor plan, services, and the Life Care contract you choose. The other cost is the monthly service fee, which is based on the type of accommodations and your level of care.

With our Life Care option, you can make your assets last longer and it’s the buy-in fee that makes the care for life guarantee with Brookdale possible.* This unique benefit guarantees that even if your financial resources are eventually exhausted due to no fault of your own you’ll still have the care you need.*

Depending on the plan you select, you may benefit from significant savings in assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing costs because your buy-in fee is an investment in your future. We offer plans that give you a defined number of free days at a certain level of care or that offer care at a discounted monthly cost. With Life Care, you must initially move into independent living, but if you need more care later, you’ll benefit from significant savings and your costs will be stabilized.

Whether you choose a rental or Life Care option, our community has the lifestyle you want and the care you need.

*The Life Care guarantee is subject to the terms and conditions of the Residency Contract.

Here are the care options available to you

Our memory care program is rooted in a person-centered approach that preserves identity and sense of self. Our secure communities provide a daily path of engagement that allows residents to flourish, even with advanced expressions of dementia.

A personal care home provides a redefined independence through assistance and services like medication management and housekeeping. Your wellness is supported through collaborative care partnerships, and our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Independent living is ideal for seniors who want to trade in the worries of home ownership for the true comforts of home. You'll have apartment options to suit your style and plenty of opportunities to socialize.

Our skilled nursing communities are here to help you throughout your journey to recovery. Whether you need a long-term stay or short term rehabilitation, we provide around-the-clock licensed nursing care in a supportive environment.
